Y’all like spring? Y’all like wit? Us too. That’s why we made our first mainstay for our new partnership with Chandler Hill Vineyard a crushable Belgian-Style Wit. Brewed with various types of wheat, two Belgian yeast strains, coriander, orange peel and pink peppercorns, this is a refreshing beer for those warm summer months.

16oz can. Poured out a slightly cloudy color with a small, white head of fizzy foam. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of cracked wheat, caramel, spices and yeast. Sweet wheat taste with yeastiness and spices.

Straw yellow in color with a light haziness. There’s a fingernail of off white around the rim and covering half of the top. There’s pale wheat and just a suggestion of coriander in the nose. I’m tasting pale wheat and coriander in harmony. The mouth is light and thirst quenching.

16 oz can, poured into a wheat glass at ~40 degrees F.

L: Pours a hazy pale straw gold, and forms a couple fingers of fizzy white head with okay retention.

S: Ripe wheat, coriander, orange, and a hint of minerality.

T: Opens as wheaten malt, with some coriander orange and soft fruity esters swelling as it moves along the palate. A faint minerality emerges by the finish, along with some white pepper. Very mild funk swirls in the backdrop.

O: A rather tasty wit.

From a tall aluminum can, this brew is pale and hazy...yellow-straw with a brilliant white head. The aroma has fresh pepper and grass...very spicy smell. The taste is moderately dry, with a bit of soft malt and an undercurrent of wheat twang. This is excellent.

poured from a 16oz can into a willi becher pint glass. pours a semi murky light yellow with two fingers of white foamy head. nose leans heavily on the belgian and peppery spices. it’s got a light floral aroma to it as well. taste leans even heavier on the belgian and pepper. i will day i have had some can variation on this one (perhaps not surprisingly due to this being can conditioned). mouthfeel is medium bodied and finishes quite full. this is a nice warm weather drinker with a little better aroma than taste. i’m not surprised on the overly belgian aspect of this beer but a couple of cans have been so pepper forward that it almost tires me out after half a glass. still, a nice take on a wit and a good can to have poolside or while doing work around the yard.
