Than You Roast The Mallow brings the smoke. Perennial has created roasty and toasty marshmallow stout blended with chocolate syrup. This one crosses the realm into a pastry stout with extra decadence.

Pouring amazingly viscous, the used motor oil black body suppresses the head to a very short tan blanket, but it retains for a decent clip before settling to a thin film and curled collar that leaves a lot of lacing.

The second sip is better than first, which isn't often the case with these dessert stouts. It's truly the classic combo of Hershey's chocolate and graham cracker with marshmallow that actually has that fluff flavor instead of the acrid sweetness or Swiss Miss fakeness you often get in these types of beer. Over time, the roasted malt shows itself a little more, which is porter-like, with a light woody cola note.

The thick syrupy body is pleasantly cut by a fine carbonation, allowing for an only slightly sticky, semi-dry finish.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a half finger high tan colored head that died down and consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of cocoa nibs and marshmallow are preset in the nose.
T: The taste has lots of chocolatey flavors (especially cocoa nibs) and strong notes of marshmallows and hints of graham crackers in the finish.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied and smooth on the palate with a high amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is packed with aromas and flavors of cocoa nibs and marshmallows - it's like a liquid dessert.
