L: Pours a slightly hazy grapefruit juice yellow, with a very creamy large head that dissipates fairly quickly. A few specks of lacing left on the glass.

S: Notes of lemongrass, wild berries, some fuzzy peach, some Belgian spice, a light breadiness underneath it all. One of the more inviting aromas I've smelt in a blonde in a long time.

T: Lemon, grapefruit, lemon grass, wild berries, and some fuzzy peach mix very nicely with a Belgian spice, that leaves a stronger than expected spicy bitterness, but it is still pleasant.

F: Bubbly carbonation, fairly light.

O: This is a very enjoyable blonde.

Enjoyed at The Royale from a Perennial glass.

A - Pours a nice crisp and slightly hazy golden color with a thin white head that is pretty dense and sticky.

S - Aroma starts with some nice grainy notes. There are some bread notes in there as well. Slight wheat sweetness. There is some light spice to the beer as well as some yeasty aromas. Nice and fluffy nose.

T & M - Starts off with a distinct bready and slightly yeast full flavor. Very smooth yet crisp and refreshing at the same time. There are some slight apple and pear juice notes to the beer. They mix well with the more grainy and earthy notes. There is a slight funkiness tot he beer as well. The mouthfeel is nice and crisp with some slight sweet finishes.

O - Pretty good brew. Im excited to try some of their others but this is a good start.

Usually the thought of blonde ale evokes lackluster impressions of wet grain, dull complexity and an overall idea that the beer reeks with adequacy. But with the subtle spice, gentle fruit and a racy flare of effervescence of Perennial's Belgian styled blonde ale and they suddenly show that these blondes indeed have more fun.

Sparkling carbonation and a light golden sheen invites the eye to a wonderful, nearly champagne-like show. Building upon its fluffy, cloud-like froth, a bright bouquet of citrus laden scents billow onto the nose. Hints of wine and apple surround a croissant-like breadiness just before the first sip reveals hints of honey, angel-food cake, agave.

And as those racy bubbles carry away the bulk of malt sweetness and bready flavor, the fruit and spice battle out over the middle palate. A first wave of estery goodness reveals pear, apple, orange, lemon and white grape in anticipation of a balance from white pepper, gentle clove and radiant coriander. A hint of vanilla comes in before the hop spice sends a pleasant peppery and grassy note to the late palate.

Light in body, the evaporative cooling of alcohol and the popping bubbles highlight the spice for a lightened impression of texture and taste. A medium long aftertaste of spice outlasts the fruit and links up with the hops for a vinous tartness that keeps the session refreshing and whimsical.

Gold in color with a light haziness. There's a fingernail of eggshell on top. Moderate lacing. I smell coriander, pale malt, and faint citrus. I'm tasting coriander, delicate pale malt, and faint orange. The mouth is light and smooth.

Poured from the tap a bright and hazy golden yellow with two fingers of bright white head.

Nice aroma of light fruity citrus, Belgian yeast along with a faint spiciness and floral notes.

The taste follows the aroma. Belgian yeast, light citrus fruitiness, faint spice and floral. Finishes clean.

Lighter bodied with a moderate carbonation.

A great session beer with good personality. More please.

pours a fairly crisp golden yellow with a nice light slightly pillowy head.

lots of malt and bread with a slight hint of spice and maybe some banana

comes across with a pilsner or lager flavor but with a bit more oomph in it. a bit of spice and belgian yeast takes it up a notch. i typically stray from belgian style blonde ales but this was just great. the belgian yeast was well integrated into this where it complimented the flavor well.

mild carbonation, smooth drinker.

this is an easy afternoon beer, well rounded.

On-tap at the Royale

A - pours a clear pale yellow with a big head that dissipates rather quickly

S - the nose is of light citrus aromas and can't pick out too much else

T - sweet lemon citrus flavors upfront that fade to a bit of a grainy malts. Finishes with a splash of spicy hops with some more citrus flavor.

M - spritzy all over, almost bubbly

D - this is a nice, light, refreshing blonde ale. This was very easy drinking and flavorful enough to hold on to my interest. This is a great session beer.

On draft in a tall glass

Slightly hazy blonde yellow in color, foamy white head. Some lacing. Nice citrus and floral hop aroma. Mild hop flavor in the taste, light clean malt. Thinner bodied.

I had this beer on-tap in a mug at Special Brews in Lynnwood, WA.

Appearance: yellow hue with a little bit of haze and a thin layer of white foam atop. Not too bad looking.

Smell: sweet with a little bit of fruity character and perhaps just the tiniest hint of funk, like a mild, sweet saison. Simple and enticing.

Taste: a little bit funkier and maybe a hair drier than the aroma. There's some grassy, vernal character here; it's not complex but it is nice.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a big carbonation and a satisfying creaminess.

Overall: I like this beer. It's not perfect, but it is refreshing and it really hits the spot.

5/2/19 (Chicago): $2.63 plus tax, 16 oz can best buy 9/11/19 purchased at Beer on the Wall in Park Ridge during Perennial tasting event. Hazy blonde pour, generous rich puffy and thick white head, lasts long, leaves spotty lacing. Sweet hops, lemon, bread and grassy aroma. Strong and pleasant taste, well blended bread, grass and lemon, malt and pepper. Carbonation holds well, fizzy mouth feel, clean and crisp drinking, nice on a warm day. Overall excellent beer, really enjoyed the pour and will definitely grab more down the road!

On-tap at the brewery and poured into tulip.

A - Pours a mirky golden color, white head, spotty lace.

S - Malts, wheat, hay, spice, slight funk in there as well. All very light and subtle, easy to enjoy and pick out.

T - Yeast, sweet malts, light hops, hay. A little more yeast the the nose and lighter in the hops department. Sweet bready finish.

M - Light, crisp and refreshing, easy to drink, good carbonation.

O - A decent Belgian Pale that goes down easily and is enjoyable. Nothing about this beer blew me away, it's just nice for what it is. A sessionable Pale that is easy to drink and refreshing.
