A pleasant table ale for the fare of three seasons. (I partially speculate; having tried Southside only in early Spring.)
A pretty Looking blonde, bubbly and not bland. Smells are certainly full of tree fruit, but not distinct. Tastes are complete, balanced. But with an average yeast giving faint clues, the yeast's cultural youth becomes clear in the Taste when compared to those across the Pond. But, Southside cleanses the palate for another bite and does its job.

My fifth from Perennial, they strike me as figuring out how to learn and integrate Belgian styles into their American repertoire. Perennial is now a decade old. That's how long it often takes if you are committed to carrying the costs of learning these unique styles that rely on Belgian yeasts that seem quite different than the other two historical traditions. I look forward to more Belgians from St. Louis. A votre sante' !

16oz can with a best by of 8/16/20, opened 4/3/20.
2 finger white, pillowy and rocky head with very good retention. Pale, straw, yellow-gold color fairly opaque beer. thick, fresh lacy beginnings. Good looking beer.
Chalky, ester filled yeasty and fruity nose. Wheat. Lemon. Belgian Witbier type of nose.
Nice, fruity and subtly spicy flavors.
Bright entry. Light body, low to medium carbonation. Clean and dry finish.
Very Good. This is a tasty beer, don't turn your nose up at "Blonde Ale" - this punches above any generic ideas some may have of that style category.

A: The beer is relatively clear light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that left a large patch of bubbles on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of Belgian yeast are present in the nose along with hints of green grapes.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of green grapes are a touch stronger and those of the Belgian yeast are a bit weaker. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a bit dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The aromas and flavors of Belgian yeast and green grapes added a bit of complexity to what might otherwise be a bland blonde ale.

This 4 pack was in the bargain bin, best by 9/25/19. I'm sure it will still kick ass.

Hazy blonde with a really awesome creamy head of 3 fingers that leaves blotches and glops behind.

Peppery aromas with some honey, lemon, lavender, chamomile tea, and grapefruit rind.

Flavor is crackery and bready to start, with some herbal and grassy notes, some splashes of fresh lemon, grapefruit, floral hops, and pepper. Banana pudding. Clove. Very Belgian. Love this beer.

Feel is crisp and carbonated with a lovely creaminess underneath.

Overall this beer is a stunner. I am quickly falling in love with everything Perennial does.

Edit : nobody else seems to like this beer as much as I do. you all suck. suck my buttcheeks. boom.

Pours a hazed straw color with 2+ fingers of whippy pearl colored head. Some scary sediment as the can is emptied, great lacing and good head retention

S: Yeast, pears, grass, white pepper

T: White grape, peaches, dryness and some Mushroom up front. More white grape and dryness, a little pear once warm. Dryness, grassyness and a little white grape in the finish and yeastyness

MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation

A decent take on the style, but not that memorable

Doughy Pils malt, American noble hop clones, Belgian yeast tones. Tangerine, lemon honey biscuits, green grass and white pepper. Overall, a fruitier experience than expected. Light, rounded, and soft feel.
