On tsp, local 44.

LOOK: dark black, big sturdy dark brown head, looks awesome.
AROMA: chocolate, some spice. Maybe it's the glassware, but I don't get much of the crazy good smell that I do in sipping the beer.
TASTE: Dry cocoa, pepper, cinnamon. Actually tasted it off my finger as the bartender gave me a sloppy pour, but it still looks beautiful.
FEEL: silky smooth, small bubble carbonation makes this awesome to sip. Full bodied, but not heavy.

May be the best of this style I've had...and I've had some great ones.

L: pours super thick. Not much head. But dark as night with a dark tan ring.

S: chocolate up front. Some malt.

T: holy crap. Ultra balanced. Chocolate up front with cinnamon in the middle and chile bringing up the back. Nothing over powers the other. Alcohol is hidden perfectly. Reminds me of bomb but better.

F: velvet smooth. Thick and oily. No complaints.

O: might be the best beer I have had. I can only imaging how he BA version would be.

This beer is an extremely thick pouring beer. It pours very dark. The head was minimal, but a nice shade of tan. There's a ring of carbonation bubbles on the side of the glass, that looks quite cool as the pop, and reform.

The nose of this beer is chocolate. I also get a hint of cinnamon. I do not get the peppers they put into the beer.

The taste of this beer is very well balanced between the chocolate, cinnamon, and on the back end, peppers. All 3 really work to give an amazing taste to this beer.

Feel is quite thick and sticky going down. it really coats the throat all the way down with it's goodness.

Overall, AMAZING! Damn! I wish I had more. I'm going to be savoring this beer all night.

Yet another outstanding offering from Perennial. Bottled 10/16 and drank 5/17, so had a little time to mellow out. Standard looking stout. Smells mildly chocolatey and spicy. When it comes to taste, this is where they shine: I love how understated their beers are. The flavors are never over the top-there's plenty of cinnamon and chocolate blending with the mild heat of the peppers over a very strong roasty stout base. Perfectly smooth feel. If they had this out year round, I'd be drinking it all the time.
