Hazy orange with some floaty tan yeast balls in the body under a short white head dying to a fuzzy film with a thick ridge of curled arms.

Caramel and toffee quickly collide with phenolic clove and bretty horse funk as faint tart orange peel and pear accent the frothy softly carbonated medium body that finishes semi-dry.

The Aria tasted better than it smelled. This beer is brewed with a yeast called Brettanomyces which led to a conversation all its own on the back patio last night. It poured a murky copper color. It didn't have much head and nor did it leave a lace. The scent was floral/pot purri- ish. The taste was decent evenly balanced and not as floral as the scent would have suggested. The mouthfeel was medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it was pretty good.

750ml bottle into a fluted tulip.

A: Pours a slightly-hazy straw/gold with 1" foamy white head that recedes at a moderate pace. Retention is quite good, lacing is stellar.

S: Tart apple & citrus. Slight hints of sourdough & vinegar. Not terribly deep, but fairly rich given the limited components.

T: Comes on with a watered-down blend of vinegar, apple & bread dough. Mid palate is underripe pear, white grape, stale cracker & lemon rind. Finishes with an almost artificial citrus note.

M: Slightly-above-average (to style) carb married to a mid-weight, almost creamy body. Finishes a bit heavy.

O: In terms of the way that the Brett is integrated, this brew is out-of-this-world. In most other ways, this brew has issues.
