Pale amber color, a bit of haze. Pours a creamy white head, creamy and lingering.

A piney/orange hop aroma. A bit malty and sweet which amplifies the fruit aromas.

Initial malt is bathed heavily in hop flavors, of the pine and citrus variety. But quickly get a bit of a solvent character. Beer seems too weak for it to be alcohol, but it is like alcohol. Nice assertive bitterness, but again have a bit of the solvent character in the finish. Some lingering hop bitterness in the finish.

Medium body and carbonation. No astringency, maybe a very slight warming

Has some good elements, but something in the volatile hop aroma/flavors doesn't work for my tastes.

Poured into a narrow water glass: color is hazy gold, head is off white with fine bubbles, presents about 1/2 inch deep, head dissipates to a ring along the glass with some lacing down the sides.

Smell is a more traditional spin on hop aroma from an ipa - good herbal notes, some citrus, some pine, but more herbal/floral notes. Some light malt noted with toasted bread.

Taste follows the aroma with herbal and floral aroma leads to a slightly spicy bitter flavor with subtle toasty malt.

Mouthfeel is moderate with crisp hop bitterness cleaning it up.

Overall a good IPA with herbal hop aroma, spicy/herbal/floral hop flavor and crisp bitterness in the feel. A good lean towards a more traditional ipa recipe.

Picked-up a six-pack of cans at store in Manahawkin, NJ, whose name escapes me. I have heard of this brew before, but never tried, as it is not distributed in MA. Decent IPA, nothing special, would probably get if in that area again.

Dark orange with a light, lingering head. A bit bitter, good amount for an IPA. I liked this one a lot.

Lightly weathered copper orange in color with a light haze. Poured with a short, creamy, bright white foam medium retention. Medium light, earthy, herbal and woody hop aromas with very light boozy notes. Medium malt aroma. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Light creamy feel through the middle with pleasant boozy warmth toward the end. Herbal and earthy hops and malt flavors with spicy hop and caramel malt notes. Medium hop bitterness through the middle that intensifies along with herbal and spicy hop flavors and a strong malt presence. Finished with caramel malt and spicy hop notes. Hop aromas were a bot subdued. Balance was slightly toward the hoppy side. Malt character was solid. Easy to drink with good flavors.

It pours amber with a very slight haze and a head that sticks around for a minute or so with minimal lacing. The aroma is very faint without giving away the hops used. Decent malts providing some balance. Medium body.

16oz pub glass.
Smells clean, light citrus, hoppy and 'odd'. Tastes mildly bitter, a mish-mash of lemon-citrus, malts and something a little different. Not overly carbonated, mild.. a light lingering of bitterness.
I don't know what to think of this one. There's something in here that was of.. a mineral taste? It wasn't bad, but it brought the flavor down a notch or two.

Bitter, herbal, malty sweetness and some citrus.

While I love NJ craft, I'm unsure about the water quality in Cape May. It's fantastic in places like Carton's Atlantic Highlands deep wells, or Shelter Island, or Long Beach Island - but I'm not sure about Cape May and Delaware.
This is more of an EIPA.

a) Pours a completely hazy orange bronze body with one finger head and spotty lace.
s) Malt, covered in light citrus, grass, seaside stink, and floral aromas.
t) Follows smell, has that boardwalk tar and timber feel of EIPAs, with caramel, orange, juicy papaya, floral notes, a bit past prime and spicy masculine bitterness.
f) Medium bodied beer, crisp, clean but malt and spice aftertaste.
o) mild IPA which is closer to an english pale ale. Mid pack.

The clear dark amber colored beer pours out into a Duvel glass with a 3/4" off white head that recedes slowly to leave a ring of leggy lacing and sheets of lacing on the sides of the glass. The foam eventually becomes a large irregular island on the liquid and most of the lacing continues to cling to the sides of the glass. Sipping creates some arches, small patches and a few long skinny legs of lacing.

The aromas include lots of citrus (grapefruit zest) supported by some floral character and some bready malt almost concealed in the background.

The flavors are much as expected from the nose with the grapefruit zest and bitterness up front but backed up by some floral character. The bready malt sweetness is in the background but there is also enough of it to soften out the bitterness and keep it from rasping the tongue. But there's also an occasional almost unpleasant earthy touch to the bitterness.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and almost smooth with some very light, prickly and persistent carbonation. The finish begins as the citric and floral bitterness fade a bit allowing the sweetness to come forward briefly before settling into a nice semi-dry ending that continues to have just a hint of sweetness to balance things out (unless it leaves that earthy bitterness showing).

This seems a well made IPA that I'd enjoy having again. That said, in a wide field of IPAs it doesn't set itself apart from the norm and the occasional earthy character to the bitterness seems jarring. But in many ways the beer is just fine in the sense that it provides what most breweries these days need, a well made drinkable IPA.

On tap at the brewery.
Pours with a lightly hazy amber body topped with a white head that leaves sticky lacing on the glass.
Fresh but mild hops with bready malts in the nose.
Flavorful with plenty of hop character. Clean and refreshing, with mild bitterness for style.
