Pours murky brown with two to three fingers of tan head. Distinct streams of carbonation make my tulip look like some kind of dark mass potion.
The nose gives off a big hit of sweet grape and raisin, balanced by spicy peppercorn, yeast, and malt. Always find myself sniffing the cork. The taste follows, adding rich layers of vanilla ice cream, banana chips, fig, cherry, clove, brown sugar, and rum. Mouthfeel is thick, but still carries a pleasant buzz of carbonation.
Note that despite its drinkability, this is a true sipper that only improves as it approaches room temperature. With an occasional metal tang at lower temperatures, you may find yourself overcome with despair as the last mouthful turns out to be exponentially better than the first. This beer has effectively replaced celebratory wine/champagne in my house.

Murky dark brown body with a most impressive, foamy tan head, 4 fingers high. Nose of raisins, malt, some sweetness and a bit of booze. Dark fruit taste with some breadiness, malt, and a lingering light sweet taste. Medium body and carbonation. If the body was a touch heavier, I would love this beer to death. World class beer, simply.
