A-Nice pop when uncapping. Poured a dark, cloudy amber w/thick persistent head. Nice lacing.

S-Yeast and fine bread w/tones of raisins and dates, spice.

T-Bread w/dry dark fruits. Slightly sweet w/trace of salt and plenty of spice. Aftertaste is very agreeable sweet malts w/possible touch of hops and warming alcohol.

M-Excellent body w/out being cloying. Goes down very smoothly.

D-A very nice specimen worth the coin.

Poured into my PBR goblet, this was a deep brown/ruby color. Lots of creamy full head and left a decent amount of lacing.

The nose was full of clove. Very malty. Large amount of dark fruit (raisins, plums).

The first thing I tasted was the sweet, clove and fruitiness of the beer. Lots of deep, carmelized malt flavor. Slight alcohol bite as it goes down, but not overpowering. The mouthfeel was fairly full and creamy, and really makes you want to take another sip.

This is an outstanding abbey ale, and a beer to really take your time and savor. I paired this with a baked ziti made w/sausage, mozzarella, and ricotta cheese, and it really stood up well to it. Love this beer.

Sometimes you drink a beer and wonder where it's been all your life. This was such an experience for me! This is my new favorite abbey ale, for sure.

Creamy, rich, chewy, with lots of raisins, dates, dried figs and fresh baked bread. Plums and subtle pie spices are also floating around in there. Very complex, lots of contemplate. It pontificates its way across your pallet toward your stomach. Smooth, luscious, sublime!,
