Served on tap at the Little Delirium in Brussels.

Pours a slightly murky blonde with a small head and little carbonation. Smell is banana and yeast -- totally classic tripel.

Taste is surprisingly light and refreshing for an 8% tripel. Banana, hint of clove, and yeast.

Mouthfeel is also surprisingly dry. Overall, good beer.

Aged this brew for 9-months and have waited impatiently to give it a try, I am glad to finally get to it.

Very unique look - cloudy, foggy, with something floating in the beer, all of it under a white, puffy head. The smell was sweet and boozy to go along with a muted boozy taste - not so overpowering as some of these brews are before letting them sit. The mouthfeel was crisp, medium-bodied, and it has a creamy texture to it. Not one of the better St. Bernardus' I've had, but still solid enough.

Like all Tripels that I have tried this is a great Beer! Pours a golden color with a small white head. The smell is sweet corn and barley. The flavor is sweet smooth light molasses. Overall would definitely have again!

Peppery, creamy, grassy, clove pear that is earthy and slightly boozy. Nice golden orange body with a beautiful head. very delicious but not my favorite Belgian brew.

Sunburst Orange Pour, thin foamy continous head with yeast streaks throughout. Bready smell full of yeast and burnt sugar. Medium bodied beer, fruity caramel yeast forward flavor profile with hints of herb and pepper. My first beer from St. Bernardus and certainly won't be the last.

Poured from a 11.2fl oz bottle into a Belgian Chalice.

Pours a rich, semi-dark orange with a foggy, haze to it. Head is a finger high of white foam that sits and retains exceptionally well. Few rings of lacing left behind, but most gets absorbed by the hearty head. Aroma is alive with bright Belgian yeast esters, banana, clove, biscuits, and bread. Flavor profile is a smooth deliver of banana, clove, and Belgian yeast esters. Flaky, doughy biscuit and bready malts shine through, especially towards the end. Mouth feel is medium in thickness, with a filling, velvety, creamy texture. Overall, a delight to drink. At 8%, it's starting to hit the middle-high end of the ABV spectrum, and yet it drinks incredibly smooth and easy.

Served in a Belgian goblet from a 12oz bottle.

Dark orange haze with a flat subtle but steady head of foam and a lot of lovely lacing. Smell of yeast, malt, orange, banana, green apple and some hops. The yeast actually has a very fresh scent, which is nice. Aforementioned flavours also make their appearance in the taste, which is amazingly balanced and subtle. Not as agressive as a lot of other tripels. Taste starts moderately sweet and is semi-dry in the finish. Mouth feel is medium bodied and smooth, silky smooth. A lovely tripel, with lots of flavour, while remaining delicate.

This was poured into a chalice. The appearance was a hazy to cloudy burnt pale orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a half a minute. Lacing is messy with light foamy strings. The smell had a sweet pear with the "iced aples" I normally get with most tripels. Light "cake-like" quality runs nicely. Light Belgian spices end up coming out slightly as it warms. The taste was mainly sweet through the malts and then slides into a sweet tropical fruity flavor. Dry sweet fruity aftertaste leads into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed to be good and low. Dryness hits my tongue decently. Overall, I wonder if I’ve had too many Americanized versions of tripels that now when I go to have a real Belgian one that I get thrown off a bit. Don’t get me wrong this was a really nice Tripel I’m just not sure why I got that "cake-like" aspect in the smell. Still, I’d have again.
