330ml bottle. Served cold in a Hoegaarden witbier glass.

Light golden colour. So hazy it's basically opaque. Beautiful. Solid inch of head with good retention and lacing.

Aroma is bright citrus and light bread yeast.

Flavour is crisp and light. Yeasty with some complex esters. The additions of coriander and orange peel are barely perceptible. They complement the other flavours rather than dominate.

Quite effervescent. Not as creamy as some witbiers.

Pretty much as good as a witbier's going to get for me. Not my favourite style but this is really well put together and far more complex than most.

From bottle at home. Exp date 17/11/17 (Plenty of time). Appearance-wise I expect more. The head was shallow & disappeared prety quickly & the bottom half added lots of haze. But so what!. This is a great beer.

Really refreshing. Big body, but not over the top. Striking lemon-esque nose & flavor. The nose was so assertive it almost got to the lemon scented cleanser level, but didn't. But once you get past the aroma, your home free. The flavor profile.

To dispense with the oft times waxing fanciful, as we all have a tendency to do here, I'll be as direct as this beer is. It's damn good. If you have an aversion to citrusy wits', step away because here is the granddaddy of 'em all.

I can see it now...me in a biergarten in Munich in August with a plate of a variety of sausage, sauerkraut & vinegary potato salad, but I'm waving off the local "masse" biers in favor of the masterfully historic Belgian, St. Brernardus Wit. Probably being brewed longer then Munich has been incorporated.

Every beer has it's time & it's place. This is the exception. It is appropriate at any time & any place. I just hope the guy on the label doesn't want to talk religion. I don't mind talking religion or politics over average beers, but the ones that are this good, I'll hold my tongue until I'm done.

A greatly balanced piece. Typical cloudy look. Complex flavor with citrus notes as well as spicy (black pepper/coriander). High carbonation typical for the style. Excellent drinkability.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip

L: Pours a cloudy light golden color... with 2 fingers of fizzy white head that falls quickly. Reasonable lacing.

S: Citrus... orange peel and lemon zest mixed with coriander and spices.

T/F: Pretty much a yeast citrus bomb. Lots of lemon and grapefruit... coriander and freshly mown grass. Lots of Belgian yeast esters. Effervescent and tangy. Finish is slightly sticky and spice lingers on the tongue.

O: Probably one of the best witbiers I've tried... a great representation of the style. I don't go for wits normally, but this has a lot going on with great flavor.

The mother of all witbier. Classic. Rich in flavour, estery but not too much on the banana side. Spicy, peppery. Complex and balanced. Really smooth and well carbonated
