Bright, Dank, Colossal…exactly what you expect with a hop bill of Mosaic and Simcoe. Get your nose in the glass and the aromatics will overwhelm you like the double-overhead closeouts down at Hammerland.

Had this at the Bistro's 23rd annual dipa fest, $30 an hour to drink, better get your money's worth. This was my 4th selection of the day.
Pours pretty, its golden yellow with great clarity, 2/5" white head when scaled up to pint from those 5oz glasses. Aroma had about an equal parts mixture of Mosaic and Simcoe hops. You get a little bit of passion fruit, pine and snozzberries. Not much in the way of weed.
The taste brings more of the Simcoe. You get a brisk cold pine day in terms of the taste and mouth feel. You dig it the most. Does a pretty good job at hiding a sizeable amount of alcohol. Minimal malt body of almost no discussion, but you didn't come here for malt body, you came here to party. Its pretty much a standard west coast ipa that got into the Mosaic era of proprietary hops alongside the older school Simcoe proprietary rookie card. Simcoe definitely smacked the hardest once you start drinking instead of smelling the beer.
I'm a long, long way from over you.

Pours a hazy yellow, translucency allows identification of objects, but is too hazy to read through. Head is two fingers of white foam. Aroma is tropical fruits with spry and light bubblegum, and grassy. Flavor profile brings out lemon zest, grassy, and papaya hops at the front. Some bubblegum simmers at the back, but the focal point is sweet hops that aren't just citrus. Mouth feel is crisp with a medium thickness. It has a consistent sharpness throughout. Overall, crisp, and punchy hops that deliver a quick, expressive flavor profile.

Yep, another quality West Coast from El Segundo. It’s beautiful and clear like my high school cheerleader girlfriend’s appearance and head who was almost way too good with a set of pompoms. But really, this one just screams classic Pacific style IPA like the island of Catalina. I dunno… honestly, if you’re drinking this one, just enjoy it and try and just be. I wish I could, and maybe one day I’ll get there.
I say tranquility to you, my children.

Looks and smells great, but tastes average. Very strange indeed.

This is an outstanding adult beverage, on it's own or paired w. food (chicken piccata, in my case, which pleasantly heightened the citrus notes in the beer). Light in hue compared to many DIPAs and surprisingly lighter (not light) on hop with relatively creamy texture.
The shorty bottle gives a nice nostalgic feel and I sampled from it, from a canning jar turned beer glass as well as from a Duvel tulip, the latter being the preferred.
All in all, this lands well in the top ten of all DIPAs I've consumed (read: many)

Now that I have begun really diving into the Bottle backlog here at Chez Woody, I am unstoppable! Yes, it means suspending The CANQuest (tm) for the moment, but the thought of being rid of these pesky bottles for once & for all is so heartening that I almost do not have words. These next bunch were all purchases through Tavour & as I have said repeatedly, I have no real beef with them. It was their inflexible local shipper + the continual adding to the backlog that led me to part ways.
From the Bottle: "Hammerland DIPA Double India Pale Ale"; "Bright, Clan, Crisp, Blueberrydankness2 [squared] … exactly what you expect with a hop bill of Mosaic and Simcoe. Get your nose in the glass and the aromatics will overwhelm you like the double-overhead closeouts down at Hammerland."; "Smell[,] Drink[,] Repeat".
I Pop!ped the cap & started a slow, gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting glass. I watched in rapt fascination as it billowed up to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head with excellent retention, almost refusing to fall and leaving a load of lacing in its grudging wake. Color was a Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, once again causing The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Croesus & Midas to rouse themselves from my couch & come into the kitchen for a taste. Nose was much as they described: Simcoe the naughty kitty doing her cattiness in a blueberry patch with some mint strewn around for good measure. 8=O Mouthfeel was medium-to-full, not quite creamy & so a little light for the style. The taste was simply marvelous - a swirling pleasure palace of dank, catty, blueberry, pine resin, grapefruit & light tropical fruits. This should serve as notice that this sort of thing can be done outside of turning it into a HazeBro. Finish was super dry, reminding me to take my daily hit off of my asthma inhaler. Phew! YMMV.

The alcohol is a bit overpowering in the finish, though the hopiness is likeable. A decent west coast DIPA.
