On tap at El Segundo Brewing Company in El Segundo, CA.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. A foamy latticework of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and vanilla beans. Taste is much the same with a chocolate syrup flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with some very nice vanilla and cocoa aromas and flavors.

Had on tap at wades wine.

Poured a dark black with little head. I presume the waiter poured off the head and filled more beer.

Dark black. Smells of malt, cocoa and vanilla. Taste is the same- heavy on vanilla. Smooth mouthfell. Would excel on nitro.

A good drinkable beer. Not one I'd go to regularly but a nice option.

Not a bad stout. I can't say I'll buy it again, but I'm glad I tried it.
