The Gueuze Tilquin - draught version (4.8% alc/vol) is a spontaneous fermented beer, produced by blending a low alcohol lambic (called Meerts) and 1 and 2 years old lambics, all fermented and aged in oak barrels. It is unfiltered and unpasteurized, and it is refermented in the keg. The lambics used were fermented and oak aged in our installations. These lambics are coming from worts brewed by Boon, Lindemans, Girardin and Cantillon breweries.

On tap at Pizzaeria Paradiso - Georgetown.

MF - Dry and very minerally with a not unpleasant metallic taste in the finish. Like sucking on a copper penny.

A - Pours clear golden yellow. Darker than expected.

T - not too tart. Citrus flavors.

On tap at Moeder Lambic, I think this was €4.5? Looks like tilquin gueuze, orange, good head. Aroma is full and musty, lots of Brett. Flavor is lemon, brett, mildly sour, tasty and I think easier to drink than the bottled version. Great gueuze.

oh man, this is so good. something i have wanted to find for a long time, definitely a different blend than the stuff they bottle, with these lower alcohol lambics blended in. its stunningly woody and weird and complex, this is the essence of gueuze, and this is one of the best. not as carbonated as i would have liked it to be, but thats really my only critique of this. really farmy and more funky than sour, with only moderate acidity, especially compared to some of the other tilquin beers, but an almost overdeveloped wild character, complex and fruity brett, notes of red apple and white wine and oddly enough mustard seed, not sure where it comes from, just one of the esters here, but there it is. wheaty malt base of course, aged hop complexion, grassy non bitter, smooth and with some body for how light it is on the alcohol. i think this is every bit as complex as the bottled versions, awesome blend! more carbonation would really make this for me, a little bummed its not effervescent, but thats the nature of lambic sometimes. a treat to finally get into this!

Pours a golden hue with off white head. Nice funk on the aroma. It's lightly tart, but clean for lambic. Less of that red pepper character I've gotten in some gueuzes. This isn't technically gueuze, but it's a super drinkable beer. I love this and if I could have this all year round, I would.

Slightly hazy golden color with off-white head. Aroma has really nice farmhouse funk and fermented fruits. Taste is quite sour but not puckering. It has nice fruity flavors like lemon, lime, unripe plums and apricots and also lambic funk flavors like hay and barnyard. Body is dry and well carbonated. Overall it's a really nice, easy drinking gueuze.
