Anaheim Red is a fuller-bodied ale with a smooth finish. Less hoppy than a pale ale, Anaheim Red features a malty, caramel character.

We developed this beer to honor Greg's Great Uncle Wilford. He was a fun-loving, life-of-the-party guy. Like Wilford, Anaheim Red is a hit at parties. It's the type of beer that goes well with any food, so bring some along the next time you're invited to dinner, a backyard barbeque, or tailgate.

Poured into a nonic.

Rich dark amber/ruby color. Almost brown at some parts. Somewhat hard pour yields a two to three fingers of off white head. Lacing and retetnion are both great.

Smells of light fruity esters, toffee, hints of chocolate, and a nice nuttiness as well.

Taste follows smell. Rich, chocolate, nutty, light toffee notes, some roasty flavors boardering on coffee like flavors.

Medium bodied, nicely carbonated, light bitterness, light acidity, everything is as it should be.

Amber ales are usually pretty boring, and while this beer is not particularly off the beaten course, it's well made and quite interesting.

On tap at a restaurant in Anaheim.

This is a solid, enjoyable but fairly pedestrian American "red" ale.

Deep red-chesnut, it has a moderate off-white head soon thinning to foamy ring and some lace.
Aroma is mild toasty malt, earthiness.

Taste is similar, nice balance of gentle sweetness and bitterness which is very good. Charatcer is light and basic, like the aroma, but fairly full-bodied and it goes well with food.

Simple but good red beer. Nothing crazy, just a good beer to enjoy dinner with.

On tap at Anaheim Brewery in Anaheim, CA.

Pours a clear copper with a foamy bone colored head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Thin rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of roasted and toasted malt, caramel, and some slight hop aromas. Taste is much the same with a herbal hop flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of roasty and hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that tastes much better than it smells in my opinion.

Poured on-tap in a pint glass at Beach Pit BBQ in Orange, Calif. Reviewed from notes.

A- No head, but a strange, coke-like bubbly carbonation. Deep brown color. Nice clarity.

S- Nutty, chocolate malts, some brown sugar and dark fruits. Interesting smelling red.

T- Tastes like old Coca Cola. Smoky flavors, roast malts and some strange metallic flavor. Yeesh.

M- Over carbonated and wet.

O- This beer is a loser. I'm thinking I may have got an infected pint, or the tap lines were soapy or something. Would try again, especially for the $2 price tag.

12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap served into a me Guinness Goblet in me gaff in low altitude Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average; I liked this brewery's honey blonde.

Served refrigerator cold and allowed to warm over the course of consumption. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a one finger head of nice cream, pretty good thickness, and good retention. Colour is a dark caramel-amber. No yeast particles are visible.

Sm: Toasted malt, cream, light fruit esters (maybe cherry),oak (?), and clean malts. A very impressive mature aroma compared to my expectations. Mild to moderate in strength.

T: Unmistakable oak barrel notes. I'm shocked. Cream, subtle toasted malt, fruit esters, and a clean malt foundation. Some vague caramelization. It's very good. Layered, complex, and subtle. I'd never have expected this given the label, marketing, and bottle. It's quite surprising. Well balanced and nicely built. A solid red.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Just thick enough. Adequately carbonated. Suits the flavours decently.

Dr: One of those rare experiences when you stumble across a beer no one knows is as good as it is. I quite fancy this one, and I'd definitely have it again. Very drinkable. Very affordable for its quality.
