You will not find any preservatives in this thirst-quenching ale. But additives? That's a different story, as each brew of Wild Rose WRaspberry Ale is infused with thousands of natural, juicy-red additives called raspberries.

Pours clear with a pink tinge or copper colour. Low carbonation, with a small, quickly disappearing head. There is a very faint raspberry smell and taste, not as sweet as expected, a little bitter, not enough raspberry fruit flavour typical in flavoured beers. Light body, giving it an overall easy drinking.

A beautiful, local, rosy gold brew. While a raspberry fruit beer, don't expect a sweet drink - it is rather pleasantly tart. Very light and refreshing,.. worth a try!

355ml can poured into tulip.
Pours a rosy amber with one finger of white head that leaves sudsy lace as it recedes.
Smells of raspberry jam and soft grainy pale malt. Pleasant, but not exactly complex.
Tastes of more mild pale malt and more jammy raspberry. Not as sweet as you'd think.
Feels light and fizzy. Light bodied with frothy carbonation. Finishes sweet and fruity.
Verdict: Recommended. Good summer beer.

This is a decent fruit beer. It pours quite cloudy, reminiscent of a lambic. There is a quite a bit of raspberry aroma as well, and again this beer makes me think of a lambic. The raspberry adds tartness to the taste and there is a enough carbonation to really make you notice it as it goes down. There isn't a lot of mouthfeel to it, but I have been drinking a number of malty brews lately, so maybe I am biased right now as a result.
Overall, this is pretty light for an ale, and I don't like it as much as their Velvet Fog, however this is a good fruit beer worthy of a spot in your rotation.

Bottle poured into a standard pub glass at a Calgary restaurant. A huge fixture here but holds relatively little interest for me. Consider this a review for the sake of being comprehensive.
Light golden color with slight reddist tint, a finger or so of peaked frothy white head. Aroma is lightly fruity, more cherry than raspberry I'd say but there is a tartness nonetheless. Slight astringent grainy note as well, a little buttered bread. This jam on toast likeness carries over onto the palate. Crisp, slightly grassy, just a tinge of buttery malts, the fruitiness subtle and vibrant, not overpowering. Thin and fizzy (as expected) with some green hop flavors in the finish.
Not much more to say. Decent fruit beer, standard wheat beer base and a delicate hand with the raspberries.

For me, fruit beer is summer beer. When this appeared in my Wild Rose taster pack, I was glad it was a warm December day so I could sample it in front of my barbecue. There is a strong raspberry nose, a bit of sweet lager with a bitter finish. As far as fruit beers go, this is pretty good. The fruit seems important, rather than an afterthought. Wild Rose is a very dependable brewery and has outpaced Big Rock in my books.
