On tap. Malt bomb double. Decent hop bitter but the heavy sweet malt finish was the dominant aspect. I like my big IPAs more hop forward.

On tap at the brewery served in a pint glass.

Look- A dark and slightly cloudy amber/gold with with a creamy finger of white foam. Heavy lacing is left behind as it slowly settles.

Smell- Cheesy yeast and malt forward like dirty socks followed by some floral notes.

Taste- Very floral to begin followed by grapefruit, orange zest, some pine and sweet malt.

Feel- Creamy and slick with a bitter and semi dry finish.

Overall- I'm a fan of Greenbush, but their IPA's do nothing for me. With that said, this is one I can actually tolerate. The smell is a bit funky, but everything else about it is decent enough. Easy drinking for the abv. and worth trying at the bar.

12 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 12/20/15, had on 2/3 16.

Pours a golden orange, hazy, with a one finger foamy head and some soapy lacing. Smell is lots of citrus- orange, grapefruit, malt, kind of a spicy aroma- clove? Taste follows the nose on the citrus, with a big orange burst. Grapefruit, light malt, a general spiciness. Solid bitterness throughout. Smooth, good body, appropriate level of carbonation.

Really liked the Mandarina hops in this, lots of good orange. Very enjoyable to drink, refreshing. Solid effort, worth stopping at Greenbush for a few bottles.

Purchased 12 ounce bottle from Crockers in Niles, Michigan for $2.50 in March 2016. This IPA showed 8.2% alcohol by volume with 84 IBUs. Loved the dry taste and it was very refreshing. A wonderful summer IPA with high alcohol content. I definitely recommend this one.

Pours a dark copper color, is slightly cloudy, and has an weirdly uneven head. You're smacked in the face with piney hoppy aromas. Not much flavor here, because the hops are so overpowering. Goes down extremely bitter, but does not have the common lingering hoppiness that's expected. The bottle says IPA as does this page, but this is obviously an Imperial IPA, so I rated as such. Overall this is a decent brew.

Nice orange color with crazy thick foam! I mean, a mountainous island of fluff is floating in the middle of my glass! Decent nose. It smells strangely of banana, but it is alongside other tropical fruits. Just seemed weird. Taste is very bitter, with chalk and lots of pine. Great creamy feel to this one. Ok, but won't get again.

Greenbush Indispensable.

Oops just realized I spelled the name wrong when I added the beer ( should be Indispensable ) with that I instead of E. Editors please correct. Anyway, this is a brand spanking new beer out of this brewery and this is the first batch released, dated 12/29/15 so it is ultra fresh. Greenbush usually does a good job with their beers so I expect this to be a treat. Let's drink it.

Look - From the twelve ounce bottle hard poured into a pint glass. This beer pours a heavily murked amber with gleams of copper and is still penetrable by the light. The head amounts to roughly two fingers of off white head, dying down to a thick and frothy cap amongst the nectar. I actually cannot get a clear carbonation read through the glass but the head would leave me to believe it is about moderate in nature as expected. Lacing is rather spotty upon an empty glass.

Smell - Now THIS is a tropical DIPA. Lots of banana which is almost smoothie like in nature right up in your nostrils initially, followed by some floral aspects and a moderate dosage of malt. Pineapple in its barest essentials with a touch of mango and papaya to round things out. Smells like that recent SN Beercamp IPA only on steroids.

Taste - The taste follows the nose to a certain degree, with the aforementioned tropical aspects all coming through in a moderate sweetness which wouldn't be cloying for even a sixer. The malt turns up heavily here and the hops add a moderate pine note which turns the bitterness up to about an eight and a half. Banana is the most dominant still of the tropical flavors and the alcohol is more prevenlant than you would expect for 8.2%.

Feel - The body on this brew is heavier than you typically get with an ipa, which is completely fine by me seeing as I much prefer heavier bodied brews. High creamy levels due to the well retained cap of froth with a moderate level of carbonation. Flavors turn back towards the smell as it sits and the brew swallows bitter and sweet though nicely so.

Overall - Another well done beer out of Greenbush. Reminded me of a more bitter version of their Dunegräs ipa. All the tropical notes you could ever desire with a nice malt to back it up. Biggest complaint is the alcohol was stronger in the flavor than I would have personally liked but it doesn't take too much away. As always, try it for yourself and come to your own conclusions..
