Poured hazy golden into a mug at the brewer. Finger of white head becoming a thin cap, minimal lacing. Scent of cloves. Taste of cloves and a hint of banana, a touch of funk in the aftertaste and pepper. Easy drinker.

Unknown vintage; drank 8/1/15 @ the Family Compound.
See-through dull orange appearance.
Minimal eggshell head; strong lace.
Banana, apple cider & mild caramel notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Banana, caramel & apple cider flavors; a balanced, refreshing hefe.

Appearance: Pours a bright, effervescent orange color with a massive and beautiful head that lingers and sticks, forming giant bubbles that really showcase the thick and rich yeast quality.
Aroma: Initially, subtle aromas of lemon citrus. Strong aromas of medicineal clove, banana, bread, and yeast follow. Reminds me of a band-aid, but the sweet aromas make it pleasant.
Taste: Strong flavors of clove and yeast upfront. Some banana in the middle, which turns into a banana bread sweetness on the finish. I detect only pale and wheat malts. Finishes delectably sweet as expected for the style.
Feel: Medium bodied. This beer is so smooth. The unfiltered yeast give it such a body that is present, but not too heavy or oily. Nice and appropriate banana bread sweetness left on the palate.
Overall: A really excellent American hefeweizen. The clove, banana, and wheat bread are all showcased well. It drinks incredibly rounded and smooth. Nothing bad to say here. I would say it fits the style perfectly and don't see any areas for improvement.
