From old notes.
A - Poured deep red and bright. One finger of beige head with minimal lace and a half finger of retention.
S - Mild berries, some roast, tobacco, berries our more later. A little chocolate too.
T - Sweet berries, a little roast, chocolate. Finished nice.
M - Decent carbonation, medium to full body, and a dry finish.
O/D - Raspberry was clearly there and played well with the porter. Nice and balanced between the two elements. Not my favourite style, but this one was done well.

Appearance: very dark brown, almost black; thick, frothy, but not dense head the colour of mocha
Aroma: black currant, ripe raspberry; something sharp and acidic
Taste & Mouthfeel: hit of bitter chocolate at first which turns to something reminiscent of dark cherry or raspberry chocolate cake (think black forest); somewhat watery texture and flavour, doesn't have great staying power, possibly due to lack of hops; tart bitterness in finish which amplifies over time; a little short on carbonation
Overall: initial flavour is great, but its missing the solidarity and backbone to stick around and maintain impact; could do better in stout form
