bottle from Etre Gourmet, served at home in a trappiest glass.
Deep goledn colour, medium head that fades soon to a persistant small head with some lacing.
Aroma is floral, fruity, with sitrics, candy, spices, maybe some coriander.
Medium body, creamy texture, good carbonation.sweet spicy finish.
Taste of candy, fruits, spices.
Very good.

L- Wow, take care with the pour, despite the bottle being well settled this was a fast/super-sludgy pour! That said a huge amount of sludge has still been left in the bottle. Pours sludgy deep amber, with 3mm white head, with streaks of beige sediment across it fon top rom the pour.
S- Fruit notes... is it citrus/orange?
T- Likely citrus/orange notes, it's certainly in that spectrum. At the heavier end, I get a sense of pungent conifer too. It's a notably pungent beer, giving the citrus etc deep foundations to sit on .... ie... this is NOT a hipster citrus beer.
F- Deep, bright, interesting. The flavour slowly unfolds, I like it.
O- Most interesting and quite different from the norm. Pungent, deep, heavy, classy, intriguing. Citrus notes, but in blanace and restrained enough not to push any single facets too much to be out of balance. I like it, I'd happily drink it again although might not rush to buy it again as it is pretty alt.
Lable almost illegible, white (non-print) on pale yellow... who knows. BB on cap: 04/09/2021
330ml Bought from BeersOfEurope/UK for home delivery.

Clever enough name... but not clever enough to get into the game of the better tripels.
While it is too much work for me to find a new Belgium brewer (I now have to travel to an EU country), I should appreciate more when I find an effort in a foreign land. But, let's be clear about Enfant Terrible: its appeal is its alcohol.

Tripels are not a favored beverage because of their yeast or any other of their ingredients; however carefully cultivated and combined. Tripels are favored because of the alcohol and a buzz is always better than not getting one that day. But IMHO, Enfant Terrible needs to work on its yeast. This is a one-dimensional ale and good tripels have two or three.

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.

A great looker in appearance. Nearly crystal and beaming in color, with pale lemon to lighter tan body color, and a roaring middle carbonation rising through the centre. Fluffy topped classic bright white head. Bowl marked as it settles with island and soft merringue puck on top. Great looker.

Something is going on here on the nose that is not like your average tripel. Slightly tropical hop character with a fleeting sense of pineapple and citrus. Hints of mild tea character with a phenolic heat sense. Interesting angle, doesn't hit of Belgian quality at first sense so not sure where this is going.

Palate goes for hops. Quenching and slightly juiced angles of tea and mild tropics to some indistinct citrus. Slightly wet body with a finishing and aftertaste of slight grassy hops and noticeable bitterness. Mild creamy tones of vanilla which is accented with just a touch of honey sweetness that just barely touches on Belgian identity. Soft waffery and fleeting malt, nearly flour and sweet dissolving.

This is a bit of an odd tripel, it comes off more as just a larger Belgian IPA with what seems like an American hop bent. Decent tasting brew, but much classic character is lost on me that I am desiring in the tripel realm.
