On tap in a sampler at the brewpub.

It pours black, with a brown head that leaves a little lace on the glass.

The aroma is gently roasty with a hint of pear-ish fruit and maybe a cocoa note.

In the mouth, it's got a light malt sweetness, gentle roasty notes, and medium bitterness to balance it out. As the menu says, this is not a big American stout. It finishes dry and roasty with a slight hint of ash.

Light bodied but not wimpy, it's pleasantly smooth.

This is an easy-drinking dry stout, comparable to Guinness draft, but not quite as assertive. it's not quite what I was expecting, but quite nice. I could easily drink a pint.

Tried the St. Emeric's Stout at the Market Garden. The stout poured a deep almost opaque amber with slightly offwhite head that left spotty lacing. The smell included hints of espresso. The taste was a good balance between malt and espresso. The mouthfeel was a bit light for me...I like stouts to be rich and creamy. The carbonation was smoot. Overall it was a decent stout....but not one that I would seek out.

Pours a very dark brown with an off white, creamy head. Aroma of roasted malts and leafy hop. In the taste, roasted malt with notes of coffee and a mellow, semi dry bitterness. The malt is roasted and well integrated with the smoothness of the nitro pour. Chocolate, coffee and mild bitterness. Overall, this is a nice, exceptionally dry Irish stout on nitro. This is a solid option for the style.
