Pours a very dark brown, emitting light through the edges of the glass in a deep ruby hue. A caramel-colored finger of head foams up quickly, but caps there. Aroma is maple immediately upon the pour. Beyond maple is wheat, flax, bread, biscuity, pancakes. It really comes off wheaty, with a mix of Krusteaz pancake mix. Flavor profile is maple syrup, which edges on cloyingly sweet, but never quite goes overboard. Pancakes, wheat, bread, and roasty malts add a little depth, but the story line is a fresh, hop plate of pancakes dressed - no - smothered in maple syrup. Mouth feel starts out still, but develops a light fizzle of carbonation at the end. It has a medium thickness. Overall, a very intriguing beer, and on basis on the beer's name, would say it's worth visiting as it captures that essence well. Worth noting, that while the can makes it seem like a good breakfast beer, it seems more like a dessert beer.

Very strong maple smell and finish. Not overly sweet considering the strong maple and that it's a porter. Personally, I would prefer it sweeter. Still, a very solid porter, mildly sweet with a heavy maple nose and finish.

Easy drinking porter. The maple does not overwhelm at all. It's there, but this beer is not as cloyingly sweet as I expected. Drinks a little thin, but the pancake and syrup taste makes up for it. A good choice for those willing to go outside the norm a bit with a a change of pace porter.

Several tastes make themselves known (if you look for them) but strong, artificial maple flavoring dominates from first contact to aftertaste. Feel is thin and slightly carbonated.
Not the worst drink I have had, but uneven. Labeling as ‘Maple Porter’, excluding mention of pancakes, would be a little more accurate

12 ounce can, this was given to me from a friend of mine. Not sure how old this is, the only thing I notice on it is that there's an 02 stamped on the bottom of the can. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head that stuck around for a little while. There's not much lacing. Aroma is mostly sweet, the brew smells like maple, roasted malt, caramel and some chocolate. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but the maple is the strongest flavor. Maple pancakes? Yeah, I can see (and taste) that. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and a bit slick and creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I think it's a good overall porter. It is mostly sweet tasting, not overpoweringly so to me but I could see how others might think so. With that being said, it's certainly worth trying if you've never had it before. I wouldn't mind trying this again in the future.

L: Pours a pitch black color with a very large creamy tan head, that leaves about 2 inches on top.
S: Smells like pancakes an syrup. Makes me think of breakfast. Some roasted malt and slight chocolate.
T: Sweet maple syrup, some malt and chocolate. Taste doesn't follow nose as closely as expected.
F: Tastes like it is nitroed, creamy but feels a little watery.
O: Smells exactly as expected taste doesn't follow quite as much but still nice porter.
