Look: Soft, floppy/soapy foam head, dark tank in color, tiny bubbles, long-lived
Smell: Roasty, espresso, toasty malt. Potent enough to smell it above the rim of the glass which is encouraging.
Taste: Burnt bread, roast, somewhat coffee-ish, there is a sweetness that offsets the burnt bitterness. Bitter cacao nibs.
Feel: Dense, pillowy head, not overly heavy, more of a medium bodied beer. Goes down slick
Overall: Pretty good for the style. Not going to hunt this down, but glad I've tried it.

Appearance: Pours with a thick two finger beige head capping the fudge colored liquid; splotchy lacing

Smell: Very roasty, with chocolate, black bread and charred tones

Taste: Aggressively charred black bread and chocolate forward, with roasted, somewhat hoppy tones developing in the middle; some residual chocolate sweetness, after the swallow but the char persists into the aftertaste

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with moderate carbonation

Overall: Assertively roasted with some hop bitterness, this is a bold flavored American double stout

Same brew formerly known as Hammer and Sickle. A solid Russian Imperial Stout
but now called just an Imperial Stout.

Enjoyed from the 12 oz can in a snifter via a friend from work---Thanks Randy!
Pours a thick rich black with a fantastic head of tan foam that settles to a thick ring, light pooling layer, and excellent lacing. Nose of chocolate, char, coffee, and deeply roasted malts. Flavors exceed the nose with char touched malts awash in coffee and dark bakers cocoa on all sides with a bitter coffee burnt malt note on the rear with a touch of bittering hops to boot. Medium high carbonation keeps this one lively while still coating on the tongue, yet lifting it to a lighter mouth feel. A nice change of pace for such a rich brew with very well hidden alcohol. Very nice.
