Alcohol by volume (ABV): 11.00%

Notes / Commercial Description:
Formerly Elevation - E3

Craving something with bold hops and high ABV? Endpoint (E3) is your beer. Single hopped with tons of summit hops, this beer is a great example of how complex a single-hopped beer can be. Summit hops are extremely diverse containing flavors of grapefruit, pine, and sweet onion. Our brewers are careful to add the hops at specific times in the boil to bring out each unique flavor. What started as a challenge to make a “hop bomb” has turned into a hop-lover’s dream. Get this year-round beer on draft or in cans.

L: Amber, with a fairly thick creamy head, nice lacing
S: Smells of piney hops and a hint of booze
T: Tastes much like it smells with a piney notes and a bite of booze on the back of the tongue
F: Big body for an IPA and a sticky feeling in the mouth
O: I think its a great beer and one of the better IPA's that I have had, I see it as an end of the week want to relax on a Friday evening and get a little buzz from a great tasting beer.

This is the first review I have done and hopefully it helps someone else out in their beer search.

The name of the beer has apparently changed from "Elevation" to "Endpoint", otherwise this appears to be same beer and logo on can...

Pale auburn pour with coppery hue/thick white foam/good lacing and carbonation.
Grapefruit and lemongrass hop aromas.
Grapefruit hop and caramel malt flavors - good juicy bitter linger.
Medium light mouthfeel with a little hop stickiness.
Excellent balance between hop bittering and malt foundation/boozy bite on the finish is a plus.

L - Golden Amber
S - Grass clippings and hops
T - Maltly with alcohol aftertaste
F - Kinda flat
O - Not worth the price, I've had several regular IPAs with more pronounced hops.

Renegade E3, endpoint triple IPA

Straight outta Denver, we have here a triple IPA that clocks in at 11%. The can looks simply great, jet black with white bold writing and green highlight font.

A: Pours a frothy golden orange cream color that is completely opaque with a lively off white cream colored head.

S: Earthy citrus hops, there’s a slight funk here, like asparagus pee (you know what I mean).

T: Tastes almost exactly as it smells, it’s got that garlicy/ onion that Summit is known for – there is some citrus and pine sticky here, but it’s underwhelming and bleh.

M: Great mouth feel, smooth and full body, carbonation to carry and alcohol and IBU tang to keep it interesting. It’s the best part of the beer.

O: This is a damn shame because this beer is a great canvas for other hops to shine on, just not Summit for God’s sake! Simco and Citra would have been a knock out, but that smoked and onion earthiness is a bad jive. It’s by no means bad, it’s actually my favorite beer that I don’t like and I’m going to finish it. I love onion too, raw or roasted, just not in beer – and it’s even more disappointing because this could have been so great. 80

(it's growing on me as I drink it though)

12 oz can poured into a Goose Island cervoise style glass. No canned on date though it just recently arrived at my local craft beer store. 11% abv, 100% summit hops, 100+ ibus per the website. I’m actually a little afraid of this can… Reviewed while Yesterday’s New Quintet jammed in the background.

Ap: A gentle pour produces about a half finger cap of still, bone colored head. Body is a clear dark gold; nice sudsy lacing on the sides. Looks a lot better than I anticipated.

Ar: Quite an interesting aroma from the Summit hops, wet grass, asparagus, a bit of cat pee, blood orange rind with a sweet doughy honey malt backbone. Hoppier than expected actually, and while the aroma is really interesting I’m curious to try it.

T: Follows the nose with those dark green vegetal, cat pee, and dank citrus hop notes before leading into some syrupy malts and a thin alcoholic bite. Finish is earthy summit hops and doughy malts.

Mf: Soft, full mouthfeel with a gentle carbonation. Just above being too syrup. Finishes dry and bitter. Props for this not being a complete barleywine but more along the lines of what you’d expect a 3X IPA to be. Not as boozy as it could be.

Overall: What would you expect from a 100+ ibu, 11% abv, and all summit hop beer? I’ll tell you: cat pee, asparagus, an almost syrupy feel, and a gentle alcohol bite. This beer could have been a total mess but it’s actually a fun albeit unique experience. The hops are fresh and up front, and the carbonation keeps it lively enough to where it’s drinkable. Recommended to all the lovers of weirdo IPAs out there.
