SADIE is an expressive ale that was carefully aged in bourbon barrels for one year. Rich accents of caramel and vanilla are carefully intertwined with delicate notes of oak and toasted oats. This inspired beer is remarkably adventurous and delightfully spirited – just like its namesake.

Components of a stout and a barleywine with some chocolate/caramel bourbon characteristic that isn’t harsh at all. Great beer!

Had on tap. Very dark brown with some surface lacing. Tons of malt aromas, with edgy booze that is met by calming vanilla, caramel, toffee, wood, slight brown sugar, coconut, and has a great wood backing. Taste is a clone with some nuts and char in there as well lightly, great flavored strong ale without losing he ferocity of the style. Feel is thick, boozy, viscous, and chewy, a very full beer for a huge style.

On tap at Hollingshead’s in Orange, CA.
You have to think, this is a Dark Ale (and I’m at the bar on Stout day); so it’s a bit thin, a bit discolored... but you know what? It’s like kissing a girl at midnight - I’m into it.
It just has that old age, medieval feel. You know some kings were pounding this style of swill while they were fighting for their liberty.
Good. Not amazing. But I’m still into it.
Yep!

2016 Batch.
A: Deep brown color, clear, with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates into the glass
A: Big bourbon aroma of vanilla, coupled with rich caramel malts and oak. .
T: Bourbon flavor that quickly gives way to rich caramel malts, slightly sweet, with light fruity esters, some alcohol and light oak.
M: Medium bodied with light carbonation. Boozy, but quite smooth.
O: Solid; the beer is still has a lot of bourbon after a year. However, it's less boozy and shows more vanilla and rich malt.
