Terrible for the style, and terrible in its own right. Looks, smells and tastes like a bad, mass-produced, too-sweet lager. Drain pour.

Pours a semi clear yellow with fine, wispy head.
Smell is citrusy with notes of honey, malt and floral and earthy hints.
Taste is light, crisp and floral, with notes of honey, citrus and some sweet malt. An earthy hint leads in to a slighty herbal bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a nice blonde ale, crisp and refreshing.

i love these guys, and for all the bold and attention demanding beers they make, i think its cool they can nail something this basic too. a fine blonde ale, pretty and clear in the pint glass under most of an inch of puffy white head and with a lot of bubbles racing up, looks like it should. less happening in the nose, but its a blonde after all, just kind of smells like beer, with a light, almost noble hop bitterness and grassiness and a flash of pale malt sweetness in it too. the flavor has a little more character than the aroma, not striated at all, well integrated flavors of dry tea-like hops and crackery cereal malt together, not a peep from the ale yeast, as it probably should be in the style. what makes this beer for me is not the flavor, a lot of them taste like this, its the feel, crisp like a lager, pale and bright in feel, assertive carbonation and a dry finish, champagne-like on the tongue and very fresh, others should aspire to this textural experience. i have seen bottles around, but its nice to have it on tap. for me, these guys can do no wrong, and leave it to them to make a hoppy enough blonde beer that drinks like a lager and is fairly priced. its their wild stuff that turns me on the most, but come on, this is really nice! underrated, it slays with a pizza too!

For being a better version of BMC, it's pretty solid all things considering.
That being said, this style isn't one I normally go for. Great purchase for family members who aren't familiar with craft, and solid price at 6 12oz cans for $9.

No, I don’t want your number. No, I ain’t gonna give you mine... oh sorry, where were we?
Looks like BMC, tastes like BMC, feels like BMC, might as well be BMC. But you know what, if you’re feeling it, it’s not all that bad!

Traded for this a while back though I can't remember where or with whom. Never had a beer from Beachwood before and though this site lists them as being out of Long Beach, the side of the bottle actually said Huntington Beach. The date on the side of the bottle read 11/17 though this tasted fresh as could be, for something that straddled the line between a Blonde and a Cream Ale.
The pour to this was typical as this gave off a clear and golden hue. Plenty of white head and a fair amount of spotty lacing were left behind as I worked my way through this. Muted nose of grass, lemon, and light fruit were all here with plenty of malt in the nose. This tasted like bread and had a full body and was sweet, but in a cloying and nearly artificial way. This reminded me of beer I'd get from Trader Joe's or the like that was good enough to enjoy for those who weren't into the scene that much. A chewy aftertaste lingered for a while but there wasn't much of any depth to chew on here, though I still found this enjoyable in an easygoing way.
Not a lot of booze here either, which made this quite easy to sip back. I suppose that for Orange County residents, this beer was an example of the easygoing lifestyle of the Golden State. As much as I miss it out there, I prefer brews with a little more taste and variation to them. Worth a go once just for something different and laid back...

This pours like an albino blonde ale - super clear, almost like a cheap lager. Aroma was sweet and bready with a touch of citrus. The taste is surprisingly underwhelming for Beechwood BBQ. I am a big fan of Beechwood but not a big fan of blonde ales so maybe that's why this rating is a bit skewed. Overall the taste is very very light for an ale but maybe that was their aim. There is almost zero alcohol taste so could be a plus depending on why you're drinking this beer.
