A- clear golden with a thin white head that disappears quickly. Stringy lacing on the glass.
S- floral hops, some vague citrus notes, grassy, lemon zest
T- lime, melon, bitter floral hops, soft malt profile
M- medium body and carbonation. Dry and grassy finish.
O- another good ipa from beachwood. More floral and earthy than others I've tried.

Can from Saraveza.

A crystal clear straw yellow with a dense white head with good retention and lacing. The nose is a blend of citrus, gumdrops, melon and grape with a dank undercurrent that's just really deep and intense. As it warms, the dank, skunk like weed notes only grow. The palate opens clean, bitter and intensely dank with a skunk heavy weed note, dank and deep. Behind this are notes of fruit - grape, melon, stone fruit. Minimal malt. Drying, dank, clean finish. Fantastic beer.

Bright and clear body, medium yellow; lively, dancing carbonation bubbles; fair head, one-finger thick, sudsy. Dense, resinous scent; pine sap; dank. Hop-forward beer; classic old school west coast flavors; light to moderate malt taste infused with a pine resin cap. Medium body; crisp bite with a sticky sweetness; semi-dry.

Classic west coast IPA redux...malty, hoppy, swillable...

Originally I had this years ago in a glass bomber now it's available in cans - yay. Pours a pale gold - nice foamy head. Aroma is big time tropical fruits, Beachwood didn't skimp on the late hop additions. Taste is light yet nice and bright and hoppy with a crisp finish - very much in line with Pliny the Elder. Mouthfeel is perfect with a slight creaminess. Overall a solid West Coast IPA - one of my all time favs.

Can poured into a Russian River Brewing Co pub glass

A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a firm layer and laces very nicely.

S: Jumps out of the glass, nice mix of zesty citrus and pine, backed with some fruity and floral notes, kinda bready malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.

T: Opens with pine, but quickly transitions to citrus, grapefruit, lemon, and a touch of orange, light underlying tropical fruit, peach, passion fruit, and apricot, a hint of melon, floral notes, bready malt, and just a touch of caramel sweetness.

M: Medium body, moderately lively carbonation.

O: This is right in my wheelhouse. Everything you want in an IPA.

Wcipa. Words “canned on” date left blank?
Appearance: Clear copper/yellow, white head and lace. Fizzy carbonation.
Smell: pine and grapefruit. Not overwhelming, done right. Slightly sweet.
Taste: grapefruit, pine, grass. Bitter. Fair amount of sweetness & malt caramel balance. Stone fruit.
Mouthfeel: Bitter slick dry wcipa mouthfeel.
Malty presence balances well. crisp slight refreshing bite.
Overall: Good wcipa. Though not dated was a recent drop to small bottle shop and tastes fresh. Very well balanced. Perfect to style.

Raul’s first thought is like how Lebowski feels about the Eagles - I am not a fan. Poured all West Coast like a 1950’s orange grove. Aroma was nice. Hella citrus and pine that wood keep a player content for days. That is, until I took a sip. And like that chick in your 3rd period ceramics class with jet black dyed hair and purple lipstick, it’s a little weird. The citrus and pine is there, but it also kind of tastes like a piece of wood and a bottle of windex had a baby - woody astringency.

Yeah, not exactly terrible, but your main man isn’t pleased.

Peace!

*Update - this beer mellowed out rather quickly. The wood and astringency died and it became fairly pleasant.
