On tap at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.

Pours a clear light orange with an off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Thick foamy rings of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, spices, and Belgian yeast aromas. Taste is much the same with a slight bitterness on the finish. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good saison with some solid aromas and flavors.

On-tap at Beachwood Brewing

A: The beer pours a surprisingly clear golden color with a big white head.

S: A very floral aroma to this, a strong honey character overall. A bit of perfume, too. Lots of bready malt with a solid yeast character. A very little spice/phenol character, which I find enjoyable.

T: There is more spice to the flavor, almost like nutmeg. Sweet bread and cracker malts, maybe a bit of biscuit. Some floral hops and perfume with very light bitterness. Yeast and a little bit of honey flavor.

M: Ligt to medium in body with a medium carbonation.

O: A nice easy drinking Saison. Would prefer a bit more funk/farmhouse to it, but very clean and well done.

On-tap at the original B-Wood, on to the beer:

The color looks like a summer sunshine. Its clean, golden yellow color are lovely to the eyes, and a few rings of lacing that stick to the glass provide a second dimension to the look. No major faults in the nose, it's fun and has enough horsepower that you don't need to get your nose into the beer to find any aromas. There are notes of lemon, spicy rye, and white pepper.

Even more complex than the nose in the flavor of El Verano. It isn't really funky, but it does offer many fun flavors; vague citurs, lemon, pepper, rye, and bubblegum. Its bosy is lighter medium, and seems to have a slight syrupy feel at points.

It's barely springtime here when this was enjoyerd, so El Verano should be able to fit in any season.

On-tap at Beachwood II,

A: Pours a clear gold with a long lasting soft white head, leaving some lace.

S: Quite fruity and floral initially. Pear, pickle, a hint of sugar cane. Gets dry and hoppy as it warms.

T: Nice notes of spice and soft bready malt. Floral hop flavours lend a nice balance, not a huge yeast input. Tasty for sure.

M: A medium-bodied beer, crisp and very clean with a clear hoppy finish. Refreshing and whets the appetite.

O: A very good domestic saison, I've been wanting to try this and it did not disappoint.

On tap at Stone.

A: Pale yellow gold with a massive two fingers of white sea foam. Retention is excellent. Lacing forms thick sheets on the glass.

S: White pepper with a little honey. Malt is redolent of biscuit, cracker, and bread. Floral notes are pronounced.

T: Wheat accompanies light bread and biscuit with faint pepper. Floral notes are evident and I get a little cracker.

M: Upper light in body with high carbonation. The mouthfeel is sticky, dry, and crisp.

Overall: A highly drinkable Saison. Restrained yeast character but that's nice for a change.
