Notes: Brewed with an abundance of Citra hops, we also blend in Warrior, Columbus, and Simcoe in the kettle for good measure. Citraholic is double dry hopped for two weeks with an abundance of Citra (and a touch of Columbus) imparting heavy aromas of citrus & tropical fruits with melon and gooseberry nuances.

Poured from a 16oz can with a canned on date of 6/11/18; into a pint glass.
Appearance- a gold snow globe of bubbles, oils and sediment supporting a medium thick, soapy white head; scattered islands of thick, sticky lacing!
Smell- faint aroma; some citrus fruits, cantaloupe and freshly mowed grass. Some pineapple in the can after it sits.
Taste - a dank blend of orange peel, cantaloupe and arugula, quite tasty!
Feel - aggressive hop bitterness upfront, but the pepper/spice arugula notes pulls it back to make it feel more balanced; really well done!
Overall- traditional west coast style, so I really enjoyed this; could use a more profound nose and at over $4/pint, I’d just as well have a $6 pint on tap.

Can't believe I've never reviewed this! Now that it's in a new format, might as well.

Citralholic pours a nearly perfect deep gold with a foamy white frosting on top. It's crystal clear,as I can see my fingers through the liquid on the back side of the glass. Beautiful. Not to mention the lovely patchy lace all over.

Lemon, lime, and melon emerge as it's poured. A little cat piss comes through as it warms and with bigger inhalation.

The flavor starts where the smell left off. Lemon, lime, melon, and a light sugary cookie like sweetness. Zesty is the best word for me, at least

Crisp, clean, dry, and bitter. Not quite as bitter as I'd like, but very well constructed. It's very easy to return to almost immediately after each sip.

Citraholic is a great IPA. One that I could drink all day, every day and is much better than the vast majority of "West Coast" IPA's out there. It's clean and showcases Citra hops very well. Cheers!

Got rained out during my trip to Beachwood: closed on Mondays. Ok, a bottle from the local spot will have to do.

Smells like my baby mama when she comes home from Burke Williams - this thang is money. Taste is pretty solid, but kind of like said baby mama a few hours after coming home from the day spa - things are a bit toned down. That being said, this dang sucker still has plenty of citrus pep in its step.

Get on it, my minions.

From a 22

L- Copper with a fairly small one finger head and moderate lacing.

S- Smells like a hp bomb. Piney and floral. Some bitter tropical fruit. West coast IPA smell all the way.

T- Hop. Bomb. Big piney, resinous hops with an explosive bitterness up front that lingers throughout. However there is a mildly sweet malt backbone on this one that makes it somewhat balanced.

F- Full. Nice carb. A sipper IMO.

O- Not a huge Citra fan generally but this is quite nice and balanced. Really drinks more like a IIPA though. 10-12oz would be enjoyable.

On tap at Far Bar in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a murky yellow with a foamy bone colored head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, citrus zest, and some slight tropical fruit aromas. Taste is much the same but the tropical fruit aromas don't come across in the taste. There is a medium hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

this beer is phenomenal, it pours a beautiful light golden Amber with a finger of bone white head, the aroma is of lemon drops, tropical fruit, weed/grass and lemon zest.... The taste is so complex for an ipa...the flavors start out wit sweet candied lemon, lemon zest and a nice dank/grass flavor, as the beer warmed up there were flavors of mango, Mellon, red grape fruit with a zesty bitterness on the finish......I highly recommend this beer.....grade A+beer

Slightly hazy straw color with a sudsy white head. Ripe tangerines on the nose with some melon and berry notes, too.

The tangerines are the dominant flavor, and the berry is very prominent, too. The mouthfeel has a nice bite, and the finish is crisp and satisfying. A primo example of a West Coast-style IPA, I could drink this until it came out my ears.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/30/2015. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of huge grapefruit, tangerine, mango, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Incredible aromas with awesome complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge grapefruit, tangerine, mango, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, peach, pineapple, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately sticky, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an incredible IPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

I think this is one of the best out of Beachwood. I also think that Melrose could be a bit better than it, but Citraholic is a solid. Although paying 9 - 10 dollars a bomber is too expensive, I still purchased one today because I could not find any local Eagle Rock IPAs at Whole Foods which is my go-to local IPA in Los Angeles.

Citraholic shows a clear gold body with a one finger head.
The smell is quite citrusy and resinous
The taste follows with a perfect balance. The grapefruit is great, the malt base is soft and nice. Some berries and floral notes are present
The carbonation is gentle but not soft
It worked pretty well with some bbq chicken wings

2016 22oz Bottle

Appearance: Very faintly hazy amber color with a modest-sized white head that slowly faded. A good looking IPA.

Smell: Piney and tropical fruity hop aromas dominate the nose.

Taste:The pine and mild fruity aromas carry over to the taste. The pine notes are the dominant feature in the taste profile with some mild tropical fruity notes coming in towards the end. The beer finishes fairly dry and on a mildly bitter note.

Mouth-feel: on the light side of medium bodied with a medium level of carbonation. Nice mouth-feel for an IPA.

Overall: A good easy-drinking IPA.

Strong citrus and pine aroma. Possible mango. Very juicy. Hoppy taste with strong pine with a little vanillas. Nice citrus aftertaste. Mouthfeel of medium body and carbonation. Strong perceived bitterness.
