A: Moderately hoppy -- citrusy with light resin and a touch of fruit, coupled with a clean light malt sweetness.

A: Deep golden color, clean with a moderately thick white head that has adequate retention. Light lacing in the glass.

T: Moderate citrus, resin hops, followed by a clean light caramel malt sweetness. The beer has a moderate hop bitterness that lingers through the finish.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

O: Quite solid; the beer has a citrusy, resin aroma and flavor with a caramel malt sweetness. The beer is clean and easy to drink.

clear amber beer. Medium white head. Lots of lacing with good head retention. Aroma is predominantly pine and tangerine citrus with some tropical notes - mango, pineapple. Mild bready malt backbone, but it's definitely hop forward. Taste is dry with good hop flavor. Just a touch of bland bitterness in the finish, not that I mind. Just a touch of malt flavor but it's mostly those same hop notes coming through. Light on the palate. Drying. Tasty stuff.

General - Had this off their tap system in the Long Beach location then brought home a growler for a formal review. Had this out of an english pint glass.

Appearance - Nice light golden color, decent head that is just slightly off white. There is pretty good lacing on the side of the glass too.

Aroma - Smells like a standard pale ale with a good balance between a light malt and light hops.

Taste - Pretty good taste, just like the aroma there is a good balance between the malt and hops. Not overpowering, or really all that memorable, just a decent pale ale.

Mouthfeel - It's a touch thin for what I would expect from a traditional APA. It almost seems like it's an american IPA that got heavily watered down.

Overall - Decent beer, not something that I would go out of my way to find but as far as APAs go this one is pretty good.

On-tap at Beachwood Brewing

Pours a golden orange color with a thick white head. Heavy on the citrus and pine hop aromas. A bit of pineapple and maybe a slight herbal character to it. Hints of bready malt as well. Lots and lots of pine flavor and a strong bitterness, too. Citrus flesh and peel notes are prominent. Some bready malt and just a little bit of sweetness.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.

Pours a clear honey copper with a tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, citrus zest, and some tropical fruit aromas. Taste is very much the same with a mild hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with a nice citrus and tropical fruit presence.
