This pours a dark brown black. There's a slight hazelnut aroma Metallic finish thin bodied doesn't deliver. Somewhat of a disappointment that a larger malt backing could easily remedy.

Incredibly tasty, just wish there was a little more substance to it. Look is jet black but thin and somewhat pedestrian with just a thin white head and no lacing. Smell and taste take things to another level. Wonderful aromas of bakers chocolate, toasted malt, baked oats, dank earth, and nuttiness. Flavors of milk chocolate, hazelnut, iced coffee, dirty malt, and toasted wheat. Wonderfully sippable and flavorful. But very thin and un-robust in terms of feel and viscosity. You put the aromas and flavors of this beer into a heartier body and you have a world-class porter. As is it is just above-average.

650ml bottle. Bottled on 05/04/2015. Poured into tulip.

A: opaque black. Poured with thin head.
S: Definitely chocolate! The label does not lie. Some malts aroma as well. Made it smells like chocolate waffle.
T: Cocoa milk. Low bitterness. Dry.
M: medium bodied. High carbonation.
O: fairly good porter if you love chocolate.

This was an after-dinner drink that I paired with dessert while my wife and I were out at a local restaurant with some friends of ours. It's very hard for me to pass up dark beers that incorporate hazelnuts, so this was a must have when I saw this on the menu.

This beer pours a pitch black hue with a creamy, tan head that is nice and persistent. Carbonation is not visible due to the opaque nature of the beer. 4.5/5 The aroma is heavy on coffee and bakers chocolate with some vanilla, smoke, charcoal, and a bit of a nutty undertone that works its way through as the beer warms. 4/5 The flavor profile is very much like the aroma with coffee, bakers chocolate, vanilla, smoke, and charcoal all playing a role. The vanilla is more pronounced here than in the aroma, plus the hazelnuts play a larger role and are more distinguishable here. The coffee note come across as cold brewed rather than espresso. Bitterness seems to be more coffee and chocolate based since there really is no hop profile to speak of. 4.5/5 This is a full bodied porter that is very heavy, but actually features a light carbonation burn to it. There is some drying and a light lingering dryness after swallowing. 4/5 This is a very flavorful porter that delivers on its namesake. It really is a dessert in a glass, just like the description, and pairs well with the sweet desserts that we had that night. 4.25/5
