Taste was a bit lacking.
Suggest additions of rose hips and lemon verbena.

Color; More hibiscus. Make it a deep ros'e.

Feel; A bit lighter and more crisp, would be more pleasurable.

22oz bottle - nothing much to add beyond the name here, other than that I barely remember the brews that I had from this outfit that made their way up here a whole 2 years ago.

This beer pours a clear, bright salmon-tinged medium reddish amber colour, with three fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and mildly creamy pale pink head, which leaves some decent hanging archipelago lace around the glass as things quickly subside.

It smells of cranberry-forward herbal tea, some musty Belgian yeastiness, stale lemon rind, granular black peppercorn, muddled pale and wheaten malt, and some musty red floral astringencies. The taste is gritty and grainy pale malt, a lesser cereal-forward wheatiness, some middling red tart fruity and floral sweetness, a more understated generic yeasty essence, and some plain leafy, weedy, and dead grassy hop bitters.

The carbonation is adequate in its palate-supportive frothiness, the body a so-so middleweight, and mostly smooth, with a sense of airy creaminess that don't care a whit about any sassy fruity interlopers, no way, no how! It finishes off-dry, the Low Countries yeast, grainy mixed malt, and fancy purple florals holding court.

Overall, yeah, this is an agreeable enough stab at re-imagining the typical bland (IMHO) BPA style. The edgy and estery floral esters do well to aid and abet this flight of fancy, and, as such, there is nothing less, nor nothing more, going on here.

Pours two fingers of pink head on a clear red body.
The aroma is flowers, lemon zest and a bit of grains.
The taste is a mild tart and grains.
The texture is crisp and fizzy.
The taste is a bit of a let down.

RB

Big teku fill tonight at Bittercreek (have seen it a couple other places, but haven't bit until tonight)... Paid a pretty pricey $8.. but it is cool to try a new Heretic brew.

Pours a pretty amazing red with a stark white head... Decent lacing and retention... Beautiful brew.

Traditional pale maltiness with a hint of dry toast or biscuits... light peppery phenolic element... hibiscus strikes me as tart cranberry.. don't really know what hibiscus tastes or smells like.

Flavor mirrors the aroma... well integrated ... the pale malt blends seamlessly with the yeasty notes and is rounded out nicely with the tartness from the hibiscus... finishes pretty dry.

Light body... good carbonation... very drinkable.

Happy to try this one and would buy it again without hesitation.

A totally lovely, elegant beer. Enchanting, bright garnet red - like a garnacha rose. Just a feather of sweetness on the nose - a little crisp, Belgiany yeast pervades. Clean, almost pilsner-y bite..the hibiscus slips in and around each sip, adding a very delicate, exceedingly floral sweetness. Such an expression of restraint, this beer, and so very Spring-like. Highly recommend.

On tap at the Surf 'N' Suds Beer Festival held at Carpenteria State Beach in Carpenteria, CA.

Pours a hazy red with a foamy reddish-tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with grain, fruit, floral, and hibiscus aromas. Taste is much the same with slightly sour grain, fruit, and floral flavors on the finish. There is a very mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that has a hibiscus presence that comes through much better in the smell to me.

Serving type: on tap.
