Thanks to foundersasap for this surprise return hit in NBS BIF #12. Canned on either 08/24/20 or 09/24/20, a tad smeared.
Burnished gold in hue. Fluffy head rises and falls. Off white head recedes to a scattered mat of minuscule bubbles. Light retention and lacing. Main plus is the color, rich.
Aroma bursts forth with citrus, grain, and a trail of pine notes. But the initial hit of orange blossom and tangerine graciously steps aside just enough to introduce a lush, earthy yet crackery sweet grain bill. The nuance steps just shy of orange blossom honey before retreating. Solid!
Flavor follows the nose, but lighter on the citrus and sweet. More earthy and wet grain. Still quite nice, but doesn't live up that nose.
Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium, but still has a slightly oily finish. In a good way. Low carbonation. Mild earthy bitter finish akin to older orange and grapefruit.
Overall, pretty solid. That nose is sublime.

My current go-to IPA. Perfect balance of refreshing and “hoppy”. A good, easy drinking beer that tastes good in the summer or the winter!

Served on tap in a 16 oz (473 ml) conical pint glass at the Sheraton Ann Arbor.
A: Pours a crystal clear amber with a one finger, foamy egg shell white head, cap retention, and stick rings of lacing.
S; A little fruit and floral, but overall largely caramel and nutty.
T: Semisweet. Caramel and nutty predominate, but tobacco and earthiness very present. Solid balanced buttering.
M: Medium bodied with low to medium effervescence. A bit chewy.
O: To me, seems to be more at the English IPA end of the spectrum, which is a refreshing change of pace.

Look is a semi clear burnt orange hue.
Fluffy off white head settles to a thin cap of suds that lasts thru out. Amazing sticky web like lacing.
Smell is light floral hops mixed with some striking bitterness as well.
Taste is straight up hop bitterness.
Tangy resinous hops. Standard IPA taste. Aggressive up front with a more juicy finish. Orange, light grapefruit, with little floral taste. Finishes semi dry yet with a juicy mouthful.
Body is medium with decent carbonation. Somewhere right in between of thin and heavy.
Perfectly balanced IPA. Hits all the rights spots.

On tap:
Pours on the amber side of dark golden. Head provides some lacing from the medium collar and easily reviving froth atop the beer.
Nose is a bit of a malt and rotting citrus mess at first. To me, it stays a tad malty, but at least warmth clears up the citrus into a grapefruit and some indistict floral notes. Bit of a let down seeing earlier reviews.
Cold, the beer comes more as a nice pale ale. But like the nose, a little warmth clears things up a bit. A biscuity malt gets a hint of caramel, then a orange citrusy note joins. A bit of spicy hops with a little light pine takes hold in the later taste. A medium-bodied beer than cleans up its malt opening with a light lingering bitterness.
Not a tongue-ripper, and to me a decently balanced IPA. Citrus and pine follow a malt beginning and out comes a refreshing brew. I’d like a little more bitterness or a little lighter malt presence to enjoy it more, though.
