While not straying too far from expectations for the style, this one does pack a bit more hop punch than Barley Wines I've had in a while. Certainly some barley backbone providing a little caramel to the slightly citrusy hopness, but the balance is such that neither really overpowers the other. Good beer.

Hoppy and very smooth especially @120 ibu. Best barley wine ever had, better than Bigfoot SN. Had it with 6 weeks after initial brew so yeah this beer is bad ass. Never had a better barley wine.

Batch #1
A- Pours a heavily-hazed, dark orange liquid bordering on brown. The light brown head is creamy and has good retention.
S- Caramel, pine, orange rind, and alcohol. Malty, hoppy, and simple.
T- Exactly the same as the aroma. A little on the mild side, considering the style and alcohol content.
M- Oily and smooth body with a warm and bitter finish.
O- Drinks pretty nicely for the style and alcohol content. Worth seeking out. May age well over a couple of years.
