Bottled summer 2014; drank 8/15/14 @ the Yarchives.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.

Semi-opaque strawberry hue.

White head; decent lace.

Mildly tart strawberry nose.

Thin mouthfeel.

Sweet strawberry & honeyed grains up front; mild funk & tart strawberry finish. The crisp carbonation reminds me of a quality strawberry soda. Nice!

This was quite mature, and even woody. Had this unexpectedly and thought I was drinking a Belgian beer at first, but it's a bit more sour as FFF tends to do.

Cloudy reddish-brown body, head disappears, fine carbonation. Smell is tart and off-dry, with lots of red fruit and faint toasted wood. Flavor picks up a bit, big piercing sour cherry mixed with strawberry and a bit of cranberry, very faint refined wood and vanilla, just enough to provide an eddy in the current of sourness. The acidity of the flavor accents the carbonation, while nothing can stop the unpleasant gritty feeling on the teeth.
The sourness is, happily, big and nearly unmitigated, giving this one a puckering punch. The actual flavor is mostly red fruit, but happily provides a variety to choose from. A great offering to the archives of this style, but due to the bomber format not a great value.

Red fruits. Sour cherries, raspberries, and cranberry. Also getting grapes and blackberries. Nice sour punch. Lacto. Great level of sweetness. Huge drinkability. Medium finish. Really good. sweet sourness starts to grind on you after a while.

P: 22 fl oz bomber in to a snifter

A: Off white head, 1 in, frothy, dissipates to rim of glass. Color is ruby red.

S: Tart, oak, light biscuit and malt.

T: Oak and tartness come out and malt provides a solid balance. Aftertaste follows initial palate.

M: Medium body. Oak and malt notes fill out the mouthfeel.

O: Very nice. Too bad this was a one off as this is one of the better wilds 3Floyd's has done. A very well executed Flanders Red.

Disappointed that Big Tiddy Assassin was a one time thing. While the name and label aren't all that appealing, it was a wonderful brew. If you don't like sours, this wouldn't have been for you... but i'm glad I got to try it before it went away.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Deep orange body. Small white head. Medium collar.

Smell - Acetic acid. Caramel maltiness, not a very deep malty aroma, though.

Taste - Sour up front. Acetic and equally malty. Kinda fruity in the middle. The malt drops off as a vinegary sourness builds.

Mouthfeel - Medium body and well carbonated.

Overall - Hits all the necessary points for a Flanders and drinks pretty well.

Appearance - The beer was a golden orange color with visible carbonation.

Smell - The aroma combines sour notes with some fruity notes. It pretty much nails the aroma for the style.

Taste - In the initial taste, it is apparent that this is a sour. Among the sensations notes are cherry skin, vinegar, oak, grape, and a certain champagne-like quality. The oak makes the aftertaste dry, but there is a certain sweetness to it as well.

Mouthfeel - The oak makes this one stick to the tongue and the insides of the mouth. The pucker-factor is present.

Overall - Three Floyds made a great version of the style. When FFF targets the sour end of the spectrum, it has not always worked out well. They truly have a winner here.

Slightly hazy bronze color with a large fluffy white head. Really good retention.

Smells of apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, and cherries.

Taste is a nice balance of sweet and tart. Acidic and fruity.

Medium heft, slightly puckering mouthfeel. Finishes sweet.

A solid flemish/sour. There's not a lot of depth, but is still put together very well with a nice balance.
