Congratulations! Welcome to flavor country. This most recent FFF’s pale ale has just the malt backbone to support an explosive juicy hop profile derived from a new blend of proprietary hops. Cheers.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Mikasa ale glass.
LOOK: Pours with a half finger's worth of white foam that halves itself after 30 seconds. Yellow in color with a high amount of cloudiness. Rising bubbles are medium in size and subtle in quantity. Lacing is thin and moderate.
SMELL: Has mild aroma of sweet bready malts that entangle with mild aromas of mango, pineapple, and papaya from the hops. I'm surprised that there are not any citrus aromas.
TASTE: Initial taste is of mild flavors of sweet bready malts and mango, pineapple, and papaya. Subtle bitter hop and piney hop flavors come in right after as initial flavors persist.
FEEL: Medium-bodied and highly carbonated. Goes down rough yet somehow creamy at the same time. Finishes with a strong dryness.
NOTE: The flavor complexity is lacking on this one. Despite that, it is still a great tasting brew.

LOOK: Opaque golden yellow/orange with about one finger of fine, quickly-disappearing foam.
SMELL: Malt, hops, and a bit of pine and citrus.
TASTE: muted fruit, more pine, and a bit of hops.
FEEL: light and medium carbonation.
OVERALL: It’s pretty good. I’d buy it again.

To the untrained observer, my machinations may be hard to pick up on. Sure, brewery horizontals are fairly straightforward & obvious, but transitions and other subtleties may not be. My previous beer was an Evil Genius, but now I am segueing over to 3 Floyds as part of my next horizontal as I keep working to eradicate the backlog here at Chez Woody. It's the pesky, confounded bottles that I will not miss as they are emptied, rinsed & placed in the recycling bin.

From the Bottle: "American Session Ale"; "Welcome to flavor country. This Pale Ale has just the malt backbone to support an explosive juicy hop profile derived from a new blend of proprietary hops. We hope you'll enjoy it."; "Label: Zimmer-Design.com".

I was anxious to welcome 3 Floyds back to PA after a distro hiatus on their part. I started by Pop!ping the cap on this one & following that with a slow, gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting glass. It foamed nicely enough, forming just over a finger of foamy, soapy, rocky, eggshell-white head with decent retention. Color was deep enough for me to consider it a solid Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a peach/apricot/pear fruitiness along with a light pine/eucalyptus mintiness. Yum! Mouthfeel was a solid medium. The taste was an interesting admixture of fruit flavors, from the softer peach/apricot/pear as noted on the nose to a sweet tropical combination of mango/papaya/passion fruit to a sharp, citrusy sharpness of grapefruit/orange/tangerine. Yum! Finish was semi-dry with the fruit flavors finally being joined again by the pine/eucalyptus mintiness. Yum Yum! YMMV.

L: Orange to gold, unfiltered with a short term half-finger froth and spotty lace.

S: Very floral and honey aroma

T: Follows nose, decent hop profile for a session.

F: Medium smooth body, off-dry.

O: Not the greatest depth of flavor, but still a crushable session.
