Pours a nut brown color. Thin tan head dissipates rather quickly leaving a ring of foam around the outside of the beer.

Smell is subdued but has notes of dark malts, roasted nuts, with a slight hint of vanilla. Very earthy and nutty aroma overall.

Taste follows the nose with notes of malts and biscuits. Flavors of roasted nuts, toffee and a touch of caramel. Very malty overall. There is a hint of spice on the finish and lingering onto the palette.

Feel has medium carbonation up front providing a slight tingle. Very smooth with a dry finish.

Overall a really nice scotch ale - Definitely one I'll revisit regularly.

I drank this in mid-February 2016, but the (gift) bottle was dated October 2014. Does a friend's fridge count as cellaring? It tasted of roasted malt with notes of coffee.

This is one beer that has everything going for it. This baby pours a cloudy reddish brown with a small beige head. Lotsa candy flavors here making this a sweet brew. Smooth easy during beer.
