Was given this gem by a cool Chicago guy at a beer festival. Can't get this stuff in the Bay Area. Waited a week before indulging.

Pours a hazy amber/copper color with a huge white foam head. Major staying power and tons of sticky lacing.

The aroma is beautiful pungent, dank hops and fruits. Peach, mango, orange, pine, caramel and big malt. Loving the wet dankness each whiff.

The taste is big on the bitter side. The hops definitely pack some bite but there is a big rush of malt that counterbalances the bitterness. Citrus bursts on each sip. Total salavation on the buds almost instantly after touched. Big bitter grapefruit/orange rind aftertaste. Long lasting. Amazingly drinkable.

Big and full-bodied mouthfeel. Very smooth for all the IBU's.

Overall I am very much impressed with this. The dankness whiffs and blasts of citrus was very enjoyable. 9.5% is not there. No way. Way too dangerously drinkable and though it may blow out some palates, I polished off this gem and was sad there wasn't more in the area. I am spoiled living in the Bay Area with the abundance of amazing IPA's but this, my friends, is a worthy find and should be searched out. Thankful to have had the opportunity to try this.
