Still sweet, but not as bad as standard DL.
Coffee is faint, but there especially near room temp.
Milkshake type body!!! Mouthfeel is everything with this beer.

Loved this beer. Coffee was most prominent on the nose, could tell it had faded a bit in taste. Cognac complimented the base beer extremely well. Incredibly smooth

Pleasant surprise among all the dark lord variants during bottle share. Very unique and balanced roasty coffee notes paired with a hint of sweet cognac, like base Dark Lord needs any more sweetness to it. Coffee has probably faded over the year but still pronounced, no alcohol burn at all and the usual thickness for DL variants. Outstanding.

Bottle number 567. Pours like motor oil with no head. Burnt sugar, barrel and dark fruit dominant the nose. Taste is similar with the barrel adding a smooth Marshmallow flavor. Little coffee left after a year and a half. Leaches a thick film in both the glass and the mouth as you drink. Overall great beer.

One of the best beers I had a dark lord day, and one of the first. Apparently the base beer has coffee, which FFF is happy to advertise, yet it doesn't come through in the taste at all.
This variant changes all that, and man is it great. I'm not sure what happens to dark lord in the barrel, but it turns into something magical. The coffee really comes through and cuts the sweetness nicely.
Overall, they knocked this one out of the park.

Very thick and smooth mouth feel. No head to speak about. Complex fruit smell and hints of Dark malts. Cognac barrel is very prominent in the taste. Very rich.
