Pours bright gold - clear and crisp. Two finger white head dissipates slowly to a half finger velvety white head that lingers. Excellent head retention and lacing. Smell has notes of orange, tangerine, melon and pine. Taste follows the nose with an array of orange, melon, tangerine, up front giving way to a strong pine and caramel malt backbone. Moderately bitter on the back end that lingers for a long time. Feel is somewhat sappy and sticky with a bitterness on the finish that hits the palate and dries it. Mild - somewhat under carbonated. Overall a nice IPA - if my tasting notes didn't say it, its much more the classic bitter style IPA from FFF that we all know and love. Really well done here.

One of the newest of FFF's 8,000 barely distinguishable IPAs that all have hard-to-decipher labels that ape old Japanese movie posters.

Pours nicely cloudy, yellow and very fizzy with a white head.

Smells like pineapples and peat.

Tastes really good. Maybe not quite great, but really good. Like a blend between older school IPAs and the uber fruity new ones. From the newer varieties, you get a smooth, minimally bitter hop profile that tastes like when candies do a "tropical fruit" variety. From the old school, you get... gasp... and actual malt profile!

Pours an effervescent amber, with a finger of cream colored head. Average head retetion & lacing

S: Breadyness, slight grapefruit, peppery

T: Follows the nose, grassyness & dryness too. Tangerine, dryness, & g , grainy, rassyness as this warms. Finishes a little sweet, bready with tangerine & dryness. Finshes dry, bready, grassy & limey

MF: Medium body, fluffy carbonation starting out, turns sharper; nice balance

Solid IPA, was hoping for a little better, but worth a go

Another unsurprisingly strong effort from one of my favorite brewers. 3 Floyd's never disappoints, and they raised the bar with this one! The taste is almost as great as the label's art work. 3F's are the Iron Maiden of beer labels (except I like their beer much more than I like Maiden's music!). This is a must have.

L - pours a darker gold and has a pretty thin head. I sometimes hate rating this category because it matters so little to me, but this one just looks a little thinner than other beers.
S - floral
T - sharp, crisp and fairly drinkable. Very hop forward, but not overpowering like some of their DIPAs, and very little malt backbone. To me, that's the best way to do an IPA!
F - Smooth and enjoyable - in many ways this beer seems almost as easy as a session IPA (but not quite) but also with the taste of a standard IPA.
O- The best 3F IPA I've had, at least for my palate. That's saying something too - they make some great ones.

As a Hoosier, I might be predisposed to like what comes out of 3 Floyds, but an honest evaluation still leaves this as an incredible beer. It has a bright yellow color that really sets the tone. It has a thin foam and a lovely citrus aroma. The taste.... Oh my... Citrus and sour. An overall light flavor that you could drink all day that will knock your socks off every sip. It's a very smooth and wet mouthfeel. Overall, 3 Floyds continues to impress me.

Appearance: Pours cloudy with a honey colored hue; the head builds to almost three fingers and retains well; clumpy lacing

Smell: Tropical fruit and grassy tones

Taste: Shortbread malt is joined by cantaloupe, up front, with hints of apricot and passion fruit developing; through the middle, the tropical tones get swept away by the grassy Bavarian hop flavors, with some sulfur in the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: I don't care for the sulfur on the finish but this is otherwise an interesting take on a hybrid IPA

Bright and daring, Three Floyds bavarian take in IPA is jus as colorful in taste as it in on the label.

LazerSnake's glowing and heavily hazy orange hues carry the fain amberness of honey. A creamy off white froth builds on top while aromas of citrus, melon, herb and tropical fruit waft boldly above. A fruity sweetness creeps on to the tongue with suggestions of angel food cake, honey and caramel.

Sweetness is short while the hops gain firm control of the middle palate and the malts begin to lift. Strong orange aromas carry the intensity of blood orange, tangerine and kumquat. Pink grapefruit, light lemon and lime, and a firm cantaloup flavor has a juicy taste and texture. As apricot and mango join the flavor fray, the beer develops a bitter finish with the character of fresh grass clippings and muddled verbena.

Medium bodied and with a New England-like "juicy mouthfeel, the beer's creamy dryness and snappy refreshment has the intangibles in taste and texutre that's remarkably drinkable, flavorful and effortless on the palate. A long herbal, grassy aftertaste is accompanied by citrus peel and melon rind.

Decent brew with a 7% AbV. I like more. Poured extremely cold from bottle to throat. Nice first taste, but looking for more hoppy grassy taste. Bought a six pack of 12oz.ers. After three I could begin to appreciate what was going on. Hints of fruit on the finish, but still not hoppy enough for me. Good brew made in Indianan so a true IPA. Not as citrusy as Voodoo ranger, but not far behind. Still lobe Bells Two Hearted Ale
