Bomber purchased from local Whole Foods for $16, dated 8/29/2016.
Cloudy, opaque light blood-orange elixir poured into a snifter. Thin white rim, scant lacing.
Cherry, pear, pineapple, funk and sour cheese with a nice tart and tang. Really nice.
Wonderful combo of cherries, pears, melon with a nice backbone of sour/funk that keeps me wanting.
Light body, tangy, sour with a nice dry finish. The alcohol is non existent.
Hesitant to pull the trigger on this bomber but well worth the price. 3F's have done a remarkable job with this sour, one that really comes through with the fruit and funk. Well done!

Think this beer is a bit underrated. Pours on the reddish side(really?!!??) of amber. Good carbonation. Sour/woody smell. There is a sour profile, but it there is a sweetness that keeps it from going full bore. Overall, I liked it. Honestly thought it was a sour, even though it is in the Berliner Weiss category.

A- Light reddish orange
S- Lots of tartness, green apples, pear, maraschino cherry
T- Not as tart as the nose leads you to believe, but still a decent level of sour. Flavors remind me of the fruit cocktail I ate as a kid... peaches, pears, and cherry.
F- Nice body, not too light
O- Not overly sour, but just enough to be interesting. Easy to drink and tasty

22 ounce bottle, bottled on 8-29-16. Served in a 3 Floyds pint glass, the beer pours a hazy reddish/orange color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is fruity and tart, the brew smells like tart cherries, lime, and green apples. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some tart berries and grainy malt flavors noticeable. There's a good amount of sourness, nice and enjoyable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, glad I got to try it! $16.99 a bomber.

22 ounce bottle into a goblet. Bottled 8/29/16, had 10/19/16.
Pours a pinkish orange, if that even makes sense, cloudy, with a half inch head when fully warmed and some spotty lacing. The smell is yeast, cherries, raspberries, some tartness and sourness, a little funk, some light citrus. The taste leads with the cherries, then a light tartness, a little more sour than the nose, and light berry flavor, yeast, some malt, a light hop bitterness up front, some sweetness after. Smooth, well carbonated, fuller body than expected for the style.
Not a style I typically go after, but the beefed up ABV was intriguing. Nice balance between the tart and sour vs. the cherries and yeast. Very good flavor. I got this at the brewery where you get a few bucks off, but still a worthwhile purchase at the price point. Great effort.

Crystal clear pale red-orange with a fizzy, very pale almost khaki-salmon head that surprisingly settles to a thin bubbly blanket that retains and becomes somewhat creamy, leaving no lace. It fades completely after a while.
Smell is certainly cherry-forward, but juicy and not artificial or medicinal at all, thankfully. It also exhibits raspberry and red wine with hints of oak and toasty sesame.
Sharply tart but not too sour, and actually smooth after the crisp fizz, flavors of tart cherry, skins and all, with raspberry and a toasty oak that approaches acetic acidity, but not quite. In the semi-dry swallow, balsamic blueberry, strawberry and red wine develop.

I love a good sour and this brew does not disappoint. I tend to shy away from beers that have a promo behind it like a band or a TV show but in this case I was unaware that this was named after a metal band and I sure am glad my prejudice did not stop me this time. I dont get paid to drink beer but I consider myself a professional beer drinker with many years under my belt. If you enjoy sours then dont pass this one up.
