A bomber purchased at Three Floyd's bottled on 1-23-17 poured in their signature Teku for the review.
Look- Pours a slightly cloudy dark gold bordering amber, leaving a generous two fingers of creamy off white lingering foam. Heavy lacing clings as it slowly settles.
Smell- A citrus/floral mix of grapefruit, passionfruit, orange zest and fresh cut flowers. A hint of malt and yeast hiding in back.
Taste- Succulent passionfruit, grapefruit, mango and orange zest with a slight touch of pine. A kiss of malt follows the bitter finish.
Feel- Very creamy to start, then finishes bitter and dry.
Overall- A very solid IPA that tastes and feels more like a double. The feel is creamy smooth and it's loaded with in your face hop flavor. I'm instantly regretting not buying more than one. Damn you Behemoth release for taking my money! I'm hoping some is still around. Kudos to Fat Heads as well for making this beer happen.

big thanks to sblickem for tossing this treat into a superbowl win box. brew has that trademark toffee I find in many FFF ipas, but it is way heavy on that fat heads syrupiness. good, not great.

As a mere sip of the beer sings a bright, rosy and floral presence to the world, its label takes a different tone. Dark, mysterious and shrouded in secrecy, the collaborative efforts of Three Floyds and Fat Heads brewers take a clear stance against all things corrupt, hidden and sinister about the world.
Confidentiality and Disclosure floods the nose with a host of classic pacific northwest hops. Tangerine, red grapefruit and peach stand tall with a backdrop of pine and grass. Its bright copper orange hues share those citrusy appearances as the first sip is radiant with citrus juices, faint caramel and honey.
Lightly toasted, the malts swiftly shed their sweetnesses as a nutty pecan characger joins a toasty shell. What insues is an utter onslaught of hops- fresh peeled oranges, red grapefruit, melon and a kiss of pineapple frame an exotic fruit profile before the beer delves into a deep and bitter finish of fresh grassiness and muddled pine needles.
Clean, crisp, and utmostly refreshing, the IPA does as its should and finishes dry and hop dominant. Its gripping bitterness in the throat is aggressive but never abrasive. Its lasting bite hangs in the throat while its flavor and fruity echoes roll across the after palate.

Copper colored with a sold inch of dense tan colored foam on top that quickly dissipates to a fingernail. I smell an intense concentration of tropical hops with notes of pineapple and mango. I'm tasting pine, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango and light malt. That's a lot of different flavors going on! The mouth is lightly sticky, resinous, and faintly chalky with a nice deep burn to the tongue from the bitter hops.

Bottled 1/23/17; drank 3/16/17 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy dark orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big eggshell head; a thick curtain of lace.
Melon, mild pine & faint apple vinegar notes in the nose.
Medium thick mouthfeel.
Caramel, melon & spring water flavors up front; mild pine bitterness on the finish.
Drinkable, certainly, but not my cup of tea.

Collaboration beer brewed with Fat Head's. Poured from a bottle into a Goose Island tulip. The pour is hazy and light burnt orange in color with an impressive 2.5 fingers of well-sustained foam on top. I get lots of pine and cedar on the nose. I could smell it the moment the cap was off and I started pouring.
Medium body with a firm feel and crisp, hoppy flavor. Fresh toast with marmalade up front, some oranges and lemon, and cedar and pine towards the back of the palate. The bitterness is pleasant and nicely balanced by the malt bill. The finish is dry and hoppy and lasting.
An IPA brewed by Three Floyds and Fat Head's is a no-brainer. Yes, it's excellent.
