Notes / Commercial Description:
This beer is brewed during the hop harvest with a portion of unkilned or “wet” hops fresh off the vine. Apricot in color, Broo Doo’s nose has dominant orange, pine sap and floral notes, balanced by a glazed nut and toffee malt body. This celebration of the hop harvest has intense tropical fruit, citrus and spicy accents that showcase the complexity of the hops we all love.

From tasting notes 10/13/17
Had on-tap at 3 Floyds Brewing in Munster, IN

Appearance - Served up in a 10oz nonic, crystal clear and brilliant golden orange in color with a thin layer of suds sitting atop. A good amount of lacing patterns the glass in broken sheeting and lesser spotting.

Smell - The aroma is citrusy with fresh orange peel and a touch of tropical fragrance. A bit of leafy green character ties it together.

Taste - Follows the nose, though a bit more tame than expected. Moderate citrusy bite with a solid backing of leafy character. Orange essence becomes the dominant force by mid-taste, driving that flavor strong into the finish and leaving an orange impression that coats the taste buds well into the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in bowy with fair carbonation. Smooth drinker but the finish is rather watery.

Overall - A pretty darn tasty Wet Hop IPA that unfortunately suffers from a limp, watery body. A shame.

Fresh hop perfection on the nose and mouthfeel. Taste is typical, very refreshing and juicy. Fruity, light pine and sweet malt. Bitter at the end and medium dryness. Very good beer, have always had it in the Fall.

22oz bottle; after all these years I finally picked up a Broo Doo!
Fluffy ivory colored head caps a caramel colored ale. Piney nose with caramel malt, faint fruitiness. Hoppy, bold orange zest and pith, some grapefruit and pine, bready caramel malt adds sweetness. Medium-full body, creamy and resinous, bitter and dry finish with hop resins coating the palate. Very solid fresh hop IPA & very enjoyable, however, considering its price, I most likely wouldn't get it again.

I went to the brewery today and this was one I drank there. I have never seen this one before so what a treat it was. The notes/ commercial description are pretty much spot on. Really good!!
