Served in a pint glass.

This brew has the Oktoberfest look - caramel/rust colored and very translucent. There's just a little bit of bubbles coming up, collecting at a eggshell colored head. The head was about two fingers when first poured but disappated quickly to a sliver.

Once again, very characteristic of an Oktoberfest. Tons of malt in the nose, along with a fair amount of banana and that crisp lager smell. There's some dark fruit character, such as plums or raisins. There's even a bit of clove in there too, sort of like other traditional German lagers. This is an excellent example of the style in the nose.

After smelling this beer, the taste falls a bit short. Not that it is bad, but it's a little underwhelming. There is a lovely maltiness in this, which is to be expected. The banana is subtle, but still present. There's a good bit of caramel as well. That crisp lager taste doesn't appear to dominate this beer, and it drinks more like an ale. Overall, though, it tastes kind of watered down.

This has quite a bit of sweet body, but is in no way hard to drink. Like I said, it tastes watered down, but there is a decent amount of sweetness left. The carbonation is very minimal, which adds to the perceived body.

This is not my favorite example of the style. However, it is pretty tasty and is a very well-made beer. But overall, it's underwhelming and average at best. I love Three Floyds, but this one just doesn't rock my world. It was made under Bavarian Purity Law, which is slightly charming, but it doesn't make this beer any more interesting.

Reviewed cold from a bottle to a glass

A - Poured a decent one finger of foam, copper tan color, lots of carbonation present

S - Sweet caramel, roasted malts, hints of hops present

T/M - Medium bodied, smooth crisp flavor, great blend of malts and hop bitterness

D - Very drinkable Oktoberfest, medium bodied, well balanced, I would for sure get this brew again. Another great brew from Three Floyds. I recommend this brew

Poured 22oz bottle into a weizen glass. Lighter bronze with a nice 2.5 finger head. Leaves a collar and swaths of lacing around the glass. Aromas is grainy malty, and sweet bread with a touch of light earthy hops. Good amount of malts, grain, sweet bread and hints of caramel. Light earthy hops give it a bit more. On the lighter side with good carbonation, clean and crisp. Smooth and easy drinking even on a warm day. Pretty decent take on this style of beer.

Not much to say about this one. Its a typical Marzen and is quite normal despite being from 3F. It had a nice caramel and bread type malt backbone with mid to low carbonation. Admittedly, this is not my favorite style but I do enjoy tasting and seeing how others differ. I think this one is a bit on the sweeter side and makes a bit less sessionable then some of the german oktoberfest.

All in all I think this is a good representation of the style but would appreciate a little more creativity from 3F as they tend to do.

Three Floyds is newly returned to Ohio, and I gotta say that I'm truly digging the label art. This may be my favorite I've seen thus far though; it looks like a couple of Kaisers swordfighting with a traditional blue and white diagonal checked background and the Three Floyd's hands creeping up with hops and barley.

I poured this into a 500 ml sized strange glass. The lager pours an amber gold, with a two finger head that reduces to a mere lid and very minor lacing.

A sweet toffee malt aroma overlays a grassy smell, with hints of hints of grapes and sweet fruit.

Lighter, fruitier and sweeter than other Oktoberfest/Märzen style brews I've had, this lager starts with a honey, fruity sweet, with hints of caramel malt, before transitioning to a mildly grassy middle and a slight kiss of hops to finish. Easily the least bitter TF I've had to date, I get hints of tangerine, apricot, peach, and creamsicle, before the sweet malt gives way to grassiness.

Light to light-medium in body, this is a super smooth and easy drinking beer.

Wow, I thought from the smell this would be kind of ho-hum, but the taste really impressed. Unfortunately, it didn't impress me as representative of the style; it is way too fruity. Still, tasty, easy drinking, and enjoyable, I'd definitley put another of these down if given the chance.
