Pours a very dark orange brown with a khaki tan head. Aroma, grassy hop, little lemon zesty note, kind of a smoked quality too. Melted butter. Aroma leads toward a bit more hop dominance. Taste, now this is just a nicely balanced taste. You're getting more of those common O-fest beer tastes- toasty malts, little caramel sweetness. Little of that grassy hop, and a bit of a cherry flavor, some peanuttiness. Not bitter. Mouthfeel is really velvety and smooth. Overall, this is really nicely done. And differs a bit from your standard American made fest beer. Dig it.

Drunk on 9/19/16 with a bottling date of 9/6/16. Fresh stuff. Nice golden color, decent head, moderate carbonation: I concur with other posters here about these qualities. I don't find this to be overhopped, though I would not call myself and Octoberfest expert. This beer is "in the zone." It is 3F handling a style with respect, IMHO. 3F is famed for its hop bombs, but they actually do a fairly big range of lagers quite well, hoppy and otherwise. Take Musterfest to a party, and people will pound these back and say, "Wow, that's a really great beer." If not a flavor monster, it's still a quality monster. Glad I picked up four bombers today.

Pours a rustic orange to a dark orange with a thin, creamy white head. Smells of a typical octoberfest big on Carmel malt. Wonderful tasting Marzen rich on malt and Carmel. Has a bit of hop that makes this one of m favorite US Marzen along with Sierra Nevada. I am big on Oftofests.
