On tap at FFF XV party. Served into a plastic cup.

A. Dark muddy brown with a ruby tint to it. One finger offwhite head. A small amount of lacing.

S. Smells of bourbon and raspberries, with an underlying caramel and earthyness.

T. Just fantastic! Bourbon and wood with caramel and toffee with a nice tart raspberrry finish.

M. Medium well carbonated feel kind of a tart dry finish.

Overall one of the highlights of the Party for me. I had 3 glasses of this! I wish I could get ahold of more of this as it was awesome!

Appearance: Murky reddish brown ale with a small fizzy light red head.

Aroma: As the name would have you expect, I smell a lot of bourbon and raspberries. I really don't pick up on much else, but it smells great!

Taste: The brew starts with a tart raspberry front, a little sweet malt in the middle and finishes with a very smooth bourbon flavor. I scarcely detect any evidence of Robert the Bruce, which is fine as the Scottish Ale flavors compliment the raspberry and bourbon flavors.

Mouthfeel: It's a a little thicker than water with minimal carbonation.

Overall: I really enjoyed this ale. It was a fun and flavorful variation of a great beer.

Randall

Served on tap at the brewpub on 2/17/07. This beer was aged in a Woodford Reserve Bourbon Barrel for 1 year, and contained Raspberry Puree.

Smell - Strong bourbon scent with just a hint of raspberries.

Appearance - A hazy dark brown color with a red tinge. Very little head on the glass. No Belgian lace.

Taste - Light chocolate and faint caramel are there, but the strongest taste is the bourbon flavor. There is a wonderful late raspberry taste followed by a little lingering bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Fairly full-bodied with a dry finish.

Drinkability - Excellent - not too sweet, too bitter, or too bourbony. The raspberry touch at the end makes you want to take another sip.

A- dark ruby brown. Ring of tan head and no lacing.

S- big bourbon and vanilla aromas, slight smell of rapberries.

T- tart raspberries, bourbon and vanilla.

M- light body and carbonation. Slight acidity at the finish.

O- good ba brown ale. Lighter for a barrel aged beers but the raspberry is a nice twist.

Served at FFF XV

The color of this reminds me of muddy water but the brown is just a little lighter. Where the appearance was lacking the smell was very good, bourbon with a hint of raspberry and some caramel malt. The bourbon is up front on the taste, a nice subtle oakiness and a pick up a little vanilla the raspberry goes very well with the oakiness from the barrel aging there is also a nice sweetness from the malt. The mouth feel is good but it could have used a little bit more carbonation but the malt really comes through to help the mouthfeel. Overall a really good beer, I am normally not a fan of beers with fruit in it because the fruit is the predominate flavor but with this beer the bourbon is up front and the raspberry come in very subtlety.
