$9.99 at Star Liquor. Too much.
Pours a deep and bubbly orange-bronze with a thick and sticky tan head.
Powerful aroma of resinous hops, pine, mango, and grapefruit. Dusty.
Flavor is big but not wowing in the way I expect from FFF or from a $10 beer. Thick caramel malt and sugar cookies with a big bitterness and piney presence. Fruity like a pineapple. Somewhat boozey, even ginny at times.
Full bodied, quite bitter but with a heavy amount of malt to add some sweetness and plenty of booze.
Moderately drinkable considering the size and weight.

Pours a cloudy dark copper color with amber edges and a one finger off-white head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic streaks and spots of lacing left behind.
Slightly herbal and surprisingly hop forward aroma with resinous, grassy pine needle along with leathery malt, sweet booze and dark fruit notes. Slightly earthy with a floral, grassy hop presence followed by leathery malt, caramel, toffee, fig, raisin and alcohol.
On the fuller end of medium bodied with a balance of dry, earthy hops, leathery malt and dark fruit. The hop presence is still pretty strong but it's a bit stale with prominent resinous bitterness that lingers over the sweeter notes into a bone dry finish. This is countered mid-palate by earthy, leathery malt and dark fruit sweetness. Hints of plum, raisin and fig followed by some sweet, boozy heat. Slight warmth in the finish but the high ABV is relatively well masked.
