[Suggested Glassware: Shaker Glass]

The pour was a clear copper brown with an average (1-2 finger) beige fluffy head that had great retention and possessed really good sheets of streaky lacing.

The aroma was of a sweet biscuit malt, spruce and cascade hops and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of citrus (orange), caramel and a pronounced dark fruit (plum) presence.

The taste was lightly sweet and malty with a note of caramel and a strong fruity presence in the beginning, and then became somewhat hoppy with a nice creamy bitter citrus peel ending. The flavor lasted an average duration following the swallow with a wonderful sweet hoppiness left lying on the taste buds.

Mouthfeel was a bit beyond light in body with a creamy dry texture and a medium carbonation.

Overall this was a very well balanced Pale Ale, with just the right amount of bitterness to go along with the mild fruity sweetness...

Thanks to Krl2112 for the bottle

Appearance: Frothy 1 finger head lingers for a bit. Dark amber beauty rules the day.

Smell: Roasted malts and some hops are prevalent.

Taste: Nice bready taste upfront rolls off into some nice tart hops, with a smooth finish. There may be some bitterness, but it blends really well into a smooth, pleasant finish that cuts off nice and dry.

Mouthfeel: Average carbonation that attacks and coats the tongue in an exceptional way.

Overall: Better than your typical pale ale, it just has that extra magic in the hops. Sessionable and tasty.

Thanks goes out to yeahnatenelson for this as an extra! 12oz. Into a New Belgium globe.

A: Pours a deep copper color with a khaki head, not quite half an inch that recedes to a thick, dense cap with gobs of sticky lacing. Slightly cloudy, and a decent amount of bubbles moving through the glass. Maybe a little on the dark side, but looks nice.

S: Hops, resinous, high AA hops, maybe a little more towards the citrus side, but definitely resiny, if blindfolded, this would scream IPA to me. This may fall into the one dimensional hops category, but that's okay, I like it. Just a hint of sharp alcohol, very faint, but still there. Nice on the nose here.

T: Interesting, not really what I expected, the hops are there, and a good sweet dark bread malt profile falls underneath that, I'm detecting a bit of a burnt flavor, maybe just a bit, but definitely enough to notice. Then its pretty much straight into bitterness with a few citrus and minty notes from the hops. I'm not sure what hop provides the minty flavor, but I've experienced it in a few Scandinavian beers, not sure if I like it, just seems odd. Alcohol note on the end. Overall pretty darn tasty.

M: A little towards the heavy side, finishes about right not too dry or too sweet, but there is a bit of perceived dryness from the alcohol which is a little strong. I don't know why its so noticeable in this 6% beer, but it definitely is.

D: I could drink a few of these, really a tasty beer, nice flavors, a bit in your face but I like it. Overall nice beer that could be a session if it was on draft. Glad I finally got to try it!

Thanks Nate!

From the first sip I knew this was a well crafted beer. Lemon and citrus notes. Very creamy and smooth. Easily the best pale ale I've had. Had ZD but I don't think it was fresh.Wish this was available in my area.

12 Oz poured into a pint glass

Cant believe I have tried 12 other three floyds beers before getting around to try this one.

A- Pours clear orange amber. Nice visible carbonation. A dense foamy three finger head of an off white coloration.

S- A very hoppy punch to the nose. Great sugary citrus like pinapple and mango and orange, Smells like fresh fruit. A light but delicious smelling malt backbone. An extremely fresh hop profile that somehow reminds me of candy. Smells slightly like fruity pebbles and Lysol, in a very good way. A marvelous smelling pale.

T- Tastes like it smells. It starts off with a sugary malt rush of light caramel and candy. Its followed up by a ton of fresh citrus flavors. Its all about the pinapple and mango, Lots of lemon and orange as well. The bitterness is relatively low considering the hop profile.

M- This beer is fairly bitter and sweet but also, not too hard to take down more then a few. Good carbonation to match the flavors. A bitter aftertaste but with that comes the glorious citrus flavors.

O- Embarrassed that it took me this long to get around to try this one. This is the best pale ale I know of. Its also priced well, unlike a lot of other 3F brews. If you like a hoppy pale ale and IPA's, this is the bomb.

Beautiful burnt orange color poured into my Sam Adams Lager glass. Big off white to tan color head. Sticky in appearance. Lace stays around like the neighborhood bum. "I ain't going anywhere!!"

If this was brewed by any other brewery it would probably be called an IPA. But because we are talking about the three floyd's it is only classified a Pale. The smell is candied citrus, orange? Sweet malts. Booze.

The taste is great. Alot like the nose it is sweet malty, Mild citrus hopped. I think a blood orange.

The mouth is exactly what it should be for this style (if it were an IPA). because it's not, it gets a better score

What a great surprise this was. Thanks to claaark13 for sending this extra my way. He was the second mid westerner to send this to me as an extra. Must be rough having this one cluttering the shelves at the local bottle shop.
