Taste: slight sweet malt, alcohol notes with a spiced hop forward flavor. Nose has complicated hops and some boozy aroma. Deep amber/gold, somewhat opaque, tall foam head with delicate lace. Medium body

Excellent Ale with nice amber color. Malty and citrus aroma and taste. Very smooth mouth feel and a nice clean finish. Poured into tasting glasses and had a nice head and lacing. Looking forward to the next bottle.

Bottled 5/2/14; drank 5/24/14 @ the Yarchives.

Poured from the bottle into a glass.

Clear, bright orange hue.

Cream-colored head; thick lace.

Mild blood orange & green peppercorn nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Dry wood, light caramel & faint citrus flavor; sharply bitter finish. Too bitter for me; drinkable but easily forgettable.

First had poured from 22-oz. bomber, with bottled-on date rubbed off, into faceted mug. In 3 Floyds' hands, all English ingredients and toasted oak aging produce an "Imperial" English IPA.

22oz bottle served in a large mug. Bottled On 05/03/16. My pour left about a half inch in the bottle.

Pours a hazy amber with a big head that fades fairly slowly. Moderate amount of fine carbonation. Smell is grassy, slightly funky, moderate amount of spice, some biscuity maltiness. Some hints of citrus.

Taste is heavy on the bitter, a tiny amount of banana flavor that kind of comes across as yeasty funk, heavy on the bitter, something vaguely chocolatey, and heavy on the bitter.

Mouthfeel is dry but full. Overall, a very good beer.

750ml bottle. Bottled 5/3/2016. Served in a Three Floyds teku glass.

Pours a dark caramel-orange body, slight amber hue, two finger white head, good retention, lots of lacing. A nice looking beer, a bit darker than expected. Smells of rich toffee, floral notes, marmalade, a big bite of citrus. Essentially what I was expecting from a Three Floyds' take on the English IPA style. It does have a heavy American influence with the citrus and grapefruit. Flavour is similar, with a solid caramel and toffee backbone, lots of orange marmalade, lemon and citrus. Lingering citrus and marmalade bitterness. A very nice beer. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, appropriately carbonated, nice substantial feel, mild-moderate bitterness that lingers for a while. Good stuff. Overall, it took a while until I found the first bottle that wasn't already a month old, but I'm glad to have finally had this one. A nice, Floyds-centric American take on the English style IPA.
