For this being a 3F beer, its actually kind of mild and subtle from what Ive come to expect from them. This is a GOOD thing, sometimes they remind me of DFH with their weird ideas and over the top styles. Anyway, Its a solid porter. Maybe a bit too roasty to the style, but it is a Baltic.
A-An oily almost opaque black. Held up to the light some brownish red color can be seen. Very thin head which dissipates quickly. True to the style I suppose.
S- Smells very roasty, and its kinda lacking in that porterlike sour smell Im used to smelling, think St. Peters. This smells more like a stout. I get a small amount of coffee/chocolate, but its more roasted malt than anything. I dont pick up any hop aroma.
T- The taste is very good, but its more like a watery stout than a porter. Very roasty, almost chocolatey, almost no bitterness, I can vaguely taste some hops, but only if I really try.
M-Thin and smooth. Very easy drinking. For such a high ABV, this is suprising. Much like a light bodied stout. Very drinkable.
Overall, lets stick to brewing highly drinkable "to style" brews like this, Three Floyds. Keep doing what youre doing with Zombie Dust, and Dreadnaught.... stop making weird stuff like Man O Awe.

(Served in a tulip glass)

A- This beer pours a jet black body with a thick creamy bubbly tan head and a gentle carbonation supporting it.

S- The charcoal aroma blend with black roasted malt and it has a very mellow quality.

T- The inky roasted black malt has some chalky coffee bean hints to it with a mellow roasted char note in the finish. There is a bitter note that lingers for a moment in the finish. There is a hint of rubber balloons flavor that comes through as the beer opens up but it doesn't overpower the other flavors.

M- This beer has a medium light mouthfeel with a gentle alcohol warmth when it warms.

O- This beer has nice dark char notes in a big but nice drinking porter with a much softer hop profile that remember.

Pours a dark amber with about a half inch of head. I'd really appreciate more head, but with a growler fill carbonation goes down hill in a hurry. The smell is nothing special. SOme roasted malt and that's about it. The taste is unique IMO. Malty with a lot of hop flavor without excessive bittering. It tastes a little too hoppy for a baltic porter but the mouthfeel is great. It reminds me of a hoppy choclate shake. I'm not doing justice to the flavor, but it really is a great drinker.

Although no bottle date; this was purchased last October 2012.

Pours a very dark brown with a scant head.

Balsamic sweetness and soy sauce prominent on the nose. Subtle roast, salted caramel, cocoa powder and raisin.

At cooler temps, the hops enrap the tongue in a numbing sensation-love it. Wonderful dark cocoa bar, bitter vanilla extract and roasted marshmallow. Warmer temp provides subtley to the aforementioned in silky fashion and more smokey quality emerges. Warming alcohol underlying all.

Prickly carbonation enlivens the hop quality. Chocolate, caramel and toasty marshmallow linger.

Darn good Baltic Porter with a FFF signature to it. I've had a few but I wanted to put a year on this one-glad I did.
